I got my first deer about 2 weeks ago and it was small but i was looking to get a deer for some meat. Then i got another deer last night only this time it was a nice doe and i was so proud of myself cause i hit her heart. Then about 2 minutes after i shot her a nice 8 pointer came up behind me and i did not have an arrow out yet so i waited until he looked away so i could stand up and grab an arrow. But by the time i got the chance to shoot he had trotted off. It would have been cool to get them both in one night but now i really want to get that 8 pointer.

When you see a doe this time of year be patient there is probably a buck not far behind. A few years ago I shot a doe that came running through the woods and not 30 seconds later a really good buck came and Iw as not ready for the shot and watched as he walked away.
