The reason i asked smokes.....was i think from where the line was drawn....i'm a rebel......here while back my daughters friend wore a t-shirt to school(both are in the 12th grade) with a small rebel flag on it and the school sent him home and exspelled him for 3 days and said never do that again.That made all the local papers and was all over the new's(st louis news stations).I thought it was crap.His parents was going to get an attourney but was told that the school/state system had a right to do it.......myself..i thought it was a bunch os BS.I got really po'ed about it and went to the school and asked them if a black boy/girl move here that was from ole miss,would they be allowed in your stinkin school..the aholes wouldn't give me a straight answer..sounds fishy to me.

OK lets start over, Most people the first thing they think when seeing this flag is REBEL. A lot of kids think they are being Rebels against some thing. Dude you were a teenager once. A kid wearing a shirt with a Marijuana leaf on it to school doesn't make sense. Kids running around with their daddy's pants on showing their underwear doesn't make sense to me. A lot of things don't make sense to me, but I never said that anybody shouldn't be able to fly whatever colors they want. I didn't say you or anyone else shouldn't have the right to do it either. No, but I didn't have time to type every african nation that there is. When I was in the military, you would see this all the time. Cars with Puerto Rican flags, or decals of flags. Not that is another can of Worms. Do you really want to open? There is a guy down the road who flys the porta ricem flag. But the flys the American flag higher and on the proper side. Not that is another can of Worms. Do you really want to open? There is a guy down the road who flys the porta ricem flag. But the flys the American flag higher and on the proper side. I have no problem with that. But a mexican flying the Mex flag only I will tar it down. That is not right. The rebel flag is part of America, the mex flag is not. :smokin:

Sorry to correct you but both "ARE" a part of American history, neither is a part of America. The SouthWestern United States was taken from Mexico by force just like the South was forced into the United States during the Civil War. Neithers history is part of the United States, both are now and forever shall be part of "our" American history. So you have no more right to fly the Rebel flag by it self then I have as an American with a Mexican heritage have the right to fly the Mexican flag by it self.

There is a matter of the hearts objective here
Is it out of a spirit of heritage and rememberence of thier decendents sacrifices for this country
Is it a pure act of rebellion from the status quo
is it a sign of thier homeland from which they migrated and are proud of
is it to take away from the US and create therir own country here.
it is a many faced behemoth
If tha heart is pure and the motive is for undying morals of high degree
anything less is questionable

Yep I'm a southener; born and raised in West "By God" Virginia. Decendant of a pround member of the 36th Virginia Infntry company D of the CSA. Lived in Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, and now in Georgia. I think I'm qualified.
