Hey there.......it's me again. I need to buy a target and have my eye on the black hole. The last time I shot I used hay stacks but don't have the time or resources to get them anymore. Also the mess, rot and penetration was annoying.

Any reviews on this ? I will be buying something in the next few hours. Probably go to Bass pro shops / Cabellas to look.

Thanks........and sorry for the rush if it's perceived that way.

its o.k. shot thru mine though ( in about three months). Ofcourse I was using it for broad heads, a little secret put multiple spots on the target to shoot at, will last longer.

My experience with "Black Hole" targets has been negative. I shot it out very quickly. Now I shoot alot more arrows than the average archer. Approximately 75 - 100 a day now. My best results with a target has been with these newer "Yellow Jacket" targets from Morrell. One for field pts, one for broadheads. Easy arrow removal and they last. Extra covers are also available but I have not had a need yet, and I have had these targets for about a year now.

How expensive are these targets you speak of. I shot through this target in a couple hours. Not too impressed with the thing but it looked to be made exactly like the hole. I shot through it using field tips only. Nothing like pi**ing away 40 bucks. I am thankful I am wealthy!

When I bought mine I worked for the shop, so I only paid cost, think at the time we sold them for about $65.00.

Morrell makes the Yellow Jacket and the Wildfire lines. Retail pricing starts at $49 for the Yellow Jacket and $39 for the Wildfire. I bought the Wildfire Quickstop for $39 and my local shop gave me a 10% discount. I'm new to archery and have only had it for 2 weeks so I can't speak for how it will last.

The high end morrells cost a bit more but they last a LONG time. If you can afford it, get the outdoor range target. They are about $90 but I only know one person that has been able to destroy one shooting.
