Found this track while I was out shed hunting, thinking it might be a mink?

Coon tracks

Mink tracks
http://www.cityofmelrose.org/departments/Conservation/files/tracks/tracks.jpg

the trail was like that of a mink/fisher. Pairs of two almost side by side, about 8" to 10" between the sets.

First I thought it might be a house cat but as I looked at it there are 5 toes, and the trail isn't right for a cat.:noidea:

When compared with the mink prints in that link, you might have a match?

my first thought when i heard there was an unidentified print was one of hopefullness. upon the realization that the prints in question were not that of an ex wife or two was of a racoon. then maybe again its a mink... or a mink impersonating a racoon...

...(talking to myself)...check the date of the thread............................... OK Then, definately weasle family if they're side-by-each. Otter and fisher tracks are as big or bigger that a coyote. I'd say mink too.

Yes it was near water, the track seems too small to be an otter....?

It's a mink. Toes are two close together. And not a large enough pad to be a river otter. Tracks look very similiar to a Marten, but thanks to the car key next to the track.... definitely Mink. :peace:
