BUNNYMAN 02-11-2008, 09:34 PM I try to get all my 3D bows to hit right around, 60-62 lbs........:noidea:
you need some weight there to keep you steady:rockon:
kbohunt 02-11-2008, 09:34 PM I shoot 60#...
I guess we are the only one's on here that shoot 3D:lol:
Im asking, to figure out what ta set the Mojo at.

I started shooting 3d's with a 55# , and went to 70# it was too much so now I'm back at 60-62#
I'd stay where you're at maybe go 62#...:noidea:
bullfiddle 02-11-2008, 09:40 PM I was shooting 90lbs back in the late 80's when I was a lot younger but we had to shoot that kind of poundage to break the 300 fps mark. Now days I am happy with 60 to 62lbs for hunting and 3D...:noidea:
Holy Smokes 02-11-2008, 09:41 PM you got access to a cronographer
i tighten mine till i am in tha 284 range bout 60 lbs
remrmber when we shot 80 #

That big single cam is already got weight to it im not sure.
I think im gonna leave it and drop my point weight 25gr's
Im already getting 5fps faster than my last bow on 60lbs.

I wanted to put 1 on it but im serious, there is no sound
I think its being deadned by the stop on the cableguard:noidea:
60#, but with the new bow I have not got my arrows finished yet. So not sure, But I want an X force so I can shoot 280's at 25 pounds lol
bfisher 02-12-2008, 09:10 AM My norm is about 53# and nearly maxed out as I order my bows with 55# limbs, That being said, even at that low weight, with the cam options and super tuning, shooting a 267gr arrow I still can achieve speeds between 280 fps and 300 fps depending on which bow I shoot.
BowhuntnHoosier 02-12-2008, 11:09 AM Well right now my XT is set at 72# and shoots 275fps. With a 390gr arrow. So thats probably what I'll use. I have'nt shot much 3D so I'm just learnin. As for the STS Kenny it does more than just quiet the bow.
BuckeyeRed 02-12-2008, 12:22 PM 3D bow is at 62#, was 64# maxed out w/ the new strings.
BUNNYMAN 02-12-2008, 12:44 PM 3D bow is at 62#, was 64# maxed out w/ the new strings.

red44 02-12-2008, 08:15 PM ...I can't keep up with some of you guys. I stick with 60lb limbs and snug 'em down. Same for hunting. For 3d I don't give a hoot about noise, let it sing. I've been using Maxima 250's mostly for the few 3ds I get to go to, took off the STS. I don't see a noise reduction with it, just a different noise. I have no idea what actual speed I'm getting but doubt it's above 270.
I shoot my vectrix at 65 pounds for 3d and hunting. My 3d setup is shooting just over 300 fps and my hunting setup is around 280. I utilize my range finder for hunting but I need speed for 3d cause I can't judge. :frusty: :frusty: :frusty:
BuckeyeRed 02-12-2008, 10:04 PM Its called new string stretch.
I've got string marked on both ends, so far so good.
Did I mention before how much I like these strings :biggrin1:.

I didn't realize how much my Doinker Elite did until I put the new strings on and shot w/ out it on. That thing absorbs a load of shock and quiets her down ALOT! I don't feel the need to add an STS to it. :peace:

No, I was going to slap one on it but I'm tellin ya that Elite Suppressor soaks up vibration and noise like you wouldn't believe.
JDX-- 02-12-2008, 10:35 PM Buckeye if you want to get those couple pounds back put a twist or two in your control cable, tighten it, this cable will tend to settle in place or stretch a little at the beginning. When the cable lengthens a micro you will loose a few pounds and shorten your draw a micro. The cable tends to settle into place some more then the string, this somewhat due to the cable not being twisted as much. check your nock position when done also
Just a idea :decision:
My poundage
50 lbs indoor on the average
50 to 55 lbs for outdoor field
62 lbs on the average for 3D
JDX-- :peace:

Thanks for the tip JDX, but I was saying if were to max out the limbs it's at 64# and I backed it down to 62# to be closer to the spec. of the bow.
Thanks though.
OneMustFall 02-13-2008, 07:11 AM 55# is what i shoot at............
kbohunt 02-13-2008, 07:45 PM on a Prestige????

dzingale 02-13-2008, 08:48 PM When I use my Guardian 70# because it is my hunting bow. My Commander which is 60# is my outdoor target bow is also my 3d bow.
kbohunt 02-14-2008, 07:02 PM I did like Bunny said:biggrin1:
I cranked her up to 60lbs, reset the loop, and dropped the point weight,75gr.
282fps:D
set the sight in at 20yds and shot about 50arrows with my son shooting beside me.
I got him to listen to the sound and he was amazed at no sound at all so no sts is goin on her.
I was groupin baseball groups at 20yds not leaveing about a 4inch group thru all 50 arrows.
My son was mad i busted 1 of the few nocks he had in the X:lol:
I put her away:D
Last up-grade im waiting on the posten V-bars and ill post some pic's of her:D
My son looked at this bow and he refered to it as in drag raceing as the difference between a pro-stock to a top fuel dragster, I said ya i know:lol:

NOISE......NO MORE
vibration.......NO MORE
Accuracy....ENOUGH TO MAKE IT WORTH PUTTING ON........
THE SMOOTHEST BOW EVER produced may be the Switchback XT......not because I am a fanboy, just that it is.......and it improves that bow, it can IMPROVE any bow.....
the arrow leaves the string at a more precise time at each shot......increasing ACCURACY.......

OH and the tiny bit of weight it adds is nothing......A heavy bow is a steadier bow.....
STRING WEAR???? are you serious???
serve the inch of string it contacts........problem solved:wave:
