:welcome: What would be a good broadhead for Columbia Blacktail? I live in Washington and mechanical are not an option because they're illegal.

Check out the Slick Trick broadheads. Guys in our area have had great luck with them. They fly awesome, create big holes and are very durable.

Most important when it comes to choosing broadheads is try lots of different ones till you find the one that flies the best. Some dealers have sample packs so you can try a bunch of different broadheads w/out spending a load of money

I shoot mechanical broadheads Tekan II from G5. If you're looking for penetration I believe in a heavy head! 125g baby!

My standard answer is- it really doesn't matter as long as they are sharp and I'll stand by that. Depending on how well your bow is tuned some do better than others though. IMO :D If they fly well, no kick, loup or tail wag you should be good to go.

As long as they are sharp and they fly good for you. That is what is imortant.

I like the Crimson Talons 100 gr.

"Slick Trick" and "NAP Razor Caps" both fly just like field points for both my wife and I. They are both very durable and very sharp, right out of the package. Good Luckk on your hunt! Jeff

I believe you're right, but I found this out the hard way. I like to went nuts before I finally got mine tuned in. The broadheads were a foot to the right of the field points. I missed the first couple days of the season cause I couldn't get it sorted out. Turns out the arrows were too stiff. Turned up the poundage on the bow and it started acting right. Now they're dead on with the field points.

Steel Force Phatheads are great heads to use.

I currently use the Phathead 125's and they are great for any type of game your after.

keep your arrow weight as close to 400 grains and you will do fine in all of your bow hunting adventures
