Contest is closed thanks for playing.:frusty:  Wheely 05-05-2008, 07:00 PM :focus: :focus: J.C. 05-05-2008, 07:21 PM well, I guess the idea is to increase membership, so start a thread and have members post just once and name their favorite bow company , or place of residence or something like that and leave it open for a set period of time. At the end of the contest use the random number generator to pick a winner. If the prize is as good as you say, all the people who surf here but never join would sign up to have a shot at it....:noidea: Wheely 05-05-2008, 07:25 PM I thought I would bring up some ideas from an older thread to get everyone thinking. How about we factor in that age old idea of "articles" that was kicked around multiple times previously? Something like submit an article on a topic (you'll get multiples on the same topic most likely) and the person gets a random number which is then drawn at a later time. That should fill the article section in one contest. __________________ get a list of things and the first one to post them all correctly wins... example, images of the following, 4 different black 101st airborne bows 1 sweet looking Mathews Switchback XT in the same pic as a robin hood... stuff like that, 911 has some good thoughts when it comes to free stuff, I wonder why?? To enter you have to add a event to the list of up coming shoots. Indoor, outdoor, spots, 3D, or field, anything anywhere archery. Help everybody plan out a good year. I say we get a How to section and everyone post a How to do some thing archery related. Then spread the word of the contest. By the time it is over 4DShoots will have the biggest and best How To section on the net. That in itself will bring new members just to learn how to do some of there own work. To post a how to section we need a way to filter out the crap. Then at the end of the contest the how to post with the most views or the best one wins. That will get new members in and old members involved. archer1983 05-05-2008, 08:15 PM YES Wheely I like the one about giving away the 101st Airborne! OK, what do I have to do? Wheely 05-05-2008, 10:26 PM YES Wheely I like the one about giving away the 101st Airborne! OK, what do I have to do? it's not about what is being given away, it is picking what kind of contest we want to do:wave: Werd 05-05-2008, 10:48 PM wheely has to be a judge, she can't steal the prize from me again, just like that quiver. lol haha. I would like to see a bow give-away. Just don't know how. Who can miss the most? I WIN!!!! Dooby 05-06-2008, 12:36 AM Hrm...few ideas on contests we could do online: Magic number post - Pick a number and whomever has that number post wins (counting only qualifying posts). Rules being, each post must include your personal review of a piece of equipment you currently own. The review must fit a particular template (includes stuff like make, model, description, rating categories, etc.). It must include at least one picture of the reviewed item. No consecutive posting. Consecutive posts will only count as 1 post (keeps people on the ball and posting socially, rather than spamming stuff in all at once...and spreads out the time for posts so we get a chance to read them). 3d Shoots "Primaries": Take nominations from board members to get our "candidates". After that...give a bit of time for each person to "campaign" in their own thread there people can ask them questions. One other thread would be for "debates". Eliminate candidates every few days until it's time for the last vote to take place. Winner of the vote gets the goods. Debate topics could include archery related stuff as general ("future of hunting in America") or specific ("why your bow maker is the best choice for all"). To make it fun, you could come up with funny things to debate...and each person MUST make a case as designated ("you must debate why whipped cream is an inferior body covering to chocolate")...or maybe something more family oriented? :p People enter online, then you PM each entrant their "secret word". Their task is to get everyone else to post their secret word X number of times on the boards. If someone can GUESS your secret word before you reach your goal....they get your "points" and you have to start over with a new word. Wrong guesses cost points (maybe too complex...but it's an idea of sorts). New board member drive - get the most active members by a cutoff date to win. New users must post at least X times OR, last...mainly because I think I'd have a shot at it...person who consistently posts the most epic responses and posts in the board. :peace:So, whatcha giving away? :) Dooby 05-06-2008, 12:38 AM ah...other idea too...maybe less fun but more beneficial...is make it a raffle with proceeds going to some archery related youth group or charity. |
