BUNNYMAN 05-01-2008, 08:27 AM I have butchered 100's of rabbits in my short life.....( I had 300 rabbits in my teens) I have 40 as we speak, and just butchered 3 this weekend....... and what he did when he got a hold of the rabbit and broke its neck by stretching it out, is all you need to do......trust me, pull hard enough and it WILL DIE.... it was for SHOW..... IT WOULD WORK, but wasnt NECASSARY.. pred8er 05-01-2008, 08:58 PM I prefeer a quick stomp to tha head with my left foot. I gotta agree with the stomp meathod, although I gotta give props to any rabbit that can live through the neck stretch/pop. :peace: Dooby 05-01-2008, 09:13 PM trust me, pull hard enough... I don't know if it's just with the little cotton tails (not like those giants BM raises), but I'd occassionally pop a head off (not as cleanly as a chicken, but still hanging by nothing but a bit of skin) when I wounded a rabbit and finished it off. I'm pretty sure that THOSE rabbits didn't have much suffering. My uncle that raised tame ones, however, always did the leg pull thing...or on occassion would hold them by the head and snap them like a wet towel. Either way seemed pretty humane. (At 6, though, I was HORRIFIED that his cute "pet" bunnies were getting killed. Gotta love life's little wake up calls.) |
