View Full Version : Customer's Bow.....What Do You Think?
jcmorgan31 06-06-2008, 09:35 AM A customer brought this bow in. It was a camo bow and he was sending it off for his wife to get it coated. I dis-assembled it for him and he sent it off. While we waited, I built a string and cable set for it and printed matching stabilizer and arrow wraps. I wrapped and fletched her arrows and wrapped the stab. I thought it turned out pretty nice....

My experience has shown that you can be a real big dummy regardless of what you may own or sell.

BUNNYMAN 06-06-2008, 01:50 PM Nice JCMorgan, but when did you start shooting Alpine??:noidea:
jcmorgan31 06-06-2008, 02:16 PM Nice JCMorgan, but when did you start shooting Alpine??:noidea:
I started shooting Alpine last year on a 3D range. It was my cousins bow and he was having trouble hitting foam. So I thought I'd show him how its done. When I squeezed off the release, the target disappeared completely from my sight picture like I had just fired off a high powered rifle.
I started shooting that bow at roughly 3pm, I stopped shooting them at roughly 3:02pm.
It is an older model though and I'm sure they are much nicer now...so all you sensitive types just leave me alone....:peace:
Mathews Man 06-06-2008, 03:43 PM Awsome. who did that coating?
jcmorgan31 06-06-2008, 03:51 PM Awsome. who did that coating?
That would be Mooseridge Coatings. I don't know if they are still in business or not. They were having a lot of issues.:noidea:

Dooby 06-06-2008, 04:25 PM Very nice looking setup!
Did I mention my favorite animal is a tiger? :D
I haven't even gotten my Commander, yet, and I'm already thinking a LH EXL that's "tiger-ized" could be on the books if my bonus is a good one this year.
:)

Mathews Man 06-07-2008, 03:39 PM what does a bow need to have done to it for some one to coat it like that?

Most powder coaters require that you disassemble the bow and send only the parts you want coated. They will bead or media blast the parts and prep them themselves. :thumb:
Mathews Man 06-08-2008, 09:23 AM I may have to check into that. Thanks for the info.
j3dGuam 06-08-2008, 06:16 PM That is a beautiful paint job:rockon:
J.A.G. 06-09-2008, 03:31 PM I love that!

Have you ever had or seen an issue with burs, deformation, or coating thickness when sending out the stuff to be coated? (especially on cams)
Elite4areason 06-10-2008, 11:02 PM those dipped cams look really cool, not big on an:censored: Alpine bow but you made that one look good.

Hmmmmm...3rd post I've read where you've felt the need to put down a bow's brand - what is up with that? :boxing:

Almost made me think I was on AT for a second. I'm hoping everyone here will help to keep brand bashing at bay.
Where's dbdc's badge?
dbdcougar 06-11-2008, 06:17 AM Oh :censored: I didn't think about the badge. :frusty: (Hey at least I didn't make a crack about the "other" site! :biggrin1: )

J.A.G. 06-12-2008, 06:24 PM Jeeeez guys, dont be a hater... I love the job you did, that bow is awesome.. I am open to trying any bow as long as it fits me.... the only one i have found has been a Hoyt.. wish they offered more choices locally.. I would love to try out a Alpine Sienna.. its smoking fast.

Yes. And from various film dippers and powder coaters. I've sent out about 4 or 5. Some came back good....others not so good. The biggest problem spot seems to be where the limb pockets slide over the riser.
These are the first cams I've had done and they a good job was done on them.
