I don't own a Hard Case. I transport mine in a soft case. Can't see why that would be a problem.

Well maybe if you were Van surfing with your bow in hand without a shirt on there may be a small problem then.

:biggrin1: I'll bring my stock of arrows and my receipt book just in case...

I'm pretty sure it would be perfectly legal to hang a bow on a gun rack in your back window with an arrow nocked if you really wanted to. Indiana's hunting laws haven't been liberalized yet....

There is no case requirement in IN. It's the state to our west.

Don't know about Indiana but in Illinois you CANNOT transport a bow and arrows without them being cased. However if you have just a bow, with no arrows, you do not need to have it cased. It also don;t matter if it's hard or soft. The bow and arrows cannot be within open view.

Other than that..... Who knows.

Why ? I always carry my bows in cases. Too big of an inventment to not case them. It's just like my rods and reels... They are all in cases.

Did you ever live in Chicago ? Did you even ever live in Illinois ?

If no, you have no clue about what you are talking about.

And why has Chicago destroyed the state ? You really have no clue about much of anything about Chicago or the sate of Illinois...

State the facts... As you see them. I'm very interested in your expert opinion.

We'll be waiting, or at least I'll be waiting....

Of course I'm talking about the liberal politicians that spews out from there and the nonsense that issues forth in turn. Can you get a carry permit in that state? Please review the firearms laws for me. A law requiring a bow to be cased, you must be joking. Haven't lived there but have visited several times. My grandparents lived out on the northwest side. I was thinking of the politicians, however someone has to vote them in. Do I dislike Chicago politics and do I believe it is a black eye on the state, you bet I do. Our presumed Dem candidate is right out of the mold; where did he start from - the 13th district was it not - ie the southside of Chicago.

IL has no concealed carry permit. I don't think.

I don't bash Illinois nor Chicago. BUT I will bash their laws concerning Guns, Hunting, and even their rules concerning transportation of archery equipment. They neither have a concealed carry permit accessible nor acknowledge any other states. They are only one of three states that do so.

The whole state is controlled by Cook County and has some of the most out-dated backward laws concerning guns. About 90% of my relatives live in Illinois (Nashville, Streator areas) and they all agree. I could say much more but refrain from getting into a mud slinging contest so therefor I won't.

Don't forget the 10.25% sales tax when you combine city and county. That is the highest in the nation. Then there is this quote:

CHICAGO’S COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE TAXES ARE
the highest per square foot in the nation,
according to a study commissioned by the
Building Owners and Managers
Association of Chicago. For every four
dollars paid in rent, almost a dollar goes
to real estate taxes.

I don't need to live in Chicago to know what their problems are. This is the electronic age. The goings on in big cities is there for all to see.

I don't need to live in Chicago to know what their problems are. This is the electronic age. The goings on in big cities is there for all to see.

Do you know what county the city of Chicago is in ?
Do you know that this county has some of the lowest property taxes (% of property value) in the nation ? Who cares what commercial taxes are... Taxes for commercial property are justified because of what services the city provides. Do you know what those services are ? I know, beccause I lived and worked there for almost 40 years.

Do you know what the average wage is for white and blue collar workers are in Chicago ?

You need to take a big step back look at the forest from the trees....

And Richard Daley is one of the most respected and effective mayors in the nation. He makes things happen for the better of the city and it's residents and fights others in the state (our governor) that are driving business out of the state.

I keep hearing things like "I hear that this and that is going on...".

And, I work in IT and have been for over 25 years. What you see in the 'electronic age' is more or less a bunch of inventions that folks brew up becuase they nothing else better to do. I had Internet access back when you probably didn't even know the Internet existed. Do you know what the Use-Net News groups are/were ? You probably also berlieve that Al Gore actually invented the Internet... That could not be more incorrect than me telling you the cloudless sky was purple or red.

People hear about what's going on but have no experience to back that up. And people who talk about Chicago, who never lived there, have no clue and should not be talking about what they think is going on. Especially backing up their argument about what they read on the Internet.

And, yes, you do need to live in Chicago and buy merchandise and own property and pay taxes to understand what problems they have and what problems they do not have.

Did you also know that Chicago has the best tap water quality in tha nation ?

No need to buy bottled water.... And tap water in Chicago costs next to nothing... In fact, Chicago got smart... They tax bottled water... Why buy the stuff anyway ? Tape water in Chicago comes from a known source and has proven quality. Why drink water from a plastic bottle that has out-gassed stuff into that water. And who knows where the water came from to begin with ?

You need to look at the big picture and really understand the facts and not what you heard or read on unreliable sources.

My final thought is that Chicago's biggest problem right now is that the state taxes on gas and the elimination of smoking in public places is encouraging people to go into Indiana and sped money there. That's hurts Chicago and the county it's in but it hurts the whole state more than anything.

I now live on the border of IL and IA and it's the same out here. Gas is 20 cents a gallon cheaper in IA than in IL because of taxes... Guess what, when my tank is dry and I need boat gas and such I drive 5 miles across the river and fill up everything at once.

Wow! It's just a city

I don't know about bows, but about 9 years ago me and a buddy were headed to the shooting range, we had rifles on our laps and the box of shells on the seat next to us. We got pulled over for no seatbelts and the cop simply asked us if we were going shooting, gave us a ticket and let us go  (good thing that is where we were going  )

You want to know about CC permits in IL. Here you go. Firearm ownership, restricted, FOIC required. CC, no provisions for CC licensing. vehivle carry and transport, Firearms or ammo possessed by nonresidents must be transported in an unloaded, cased condition in the trunk or storage compartment of vehicle. Just love liberal states.

The real question is why shouldn't we be allowed to carry? As far as I'm concerned the 2nd Amendment gives us that right PERIOD! However judges and politicians ignore the constitution all the time, find things that aren't even in there and twist it to suit their socialist power grabbing agenda. I wonder if the founding fathers saw what state this country is in today if they would have decided just to leave things as they were? It's getting to the point where we are as much slaves to the government as they were to the king.

Well said. I'm not a gun person at all but I agree with you...

In 50 years, or less, other governments will be referring to us as RED USA, kind of like when we used to reffer to China as RED China back in the 50's, 60's and 70's...
