Ripcord. Same containtment as a WB but in a drop away rest. Best of both worlds.

If I were going to shoot targets and hunt with the same bow. QAD Ultra Rest. Full containment in a drop away and you can lock it in the upright position ready to shoot.

For hunting only, or if I were gonna shoot a different bow for target, I still like the WB....keepin it simple.

The best rest for any type of shooting is what you feel comfortable with and get results with. WB's are good confidence builders since the shooter don't need to worry about the arrow falling of the rest. The shooter can be as sloppy as they want on the draw and not have an issue.

If you are comfortable shooting a prong type rest then you might not want to make a change. Go with what you know and feel comfortable with.

you really can't say its better, it is that for hunting it is about as simple and fool proof as they come.

i grew up shooting fingers and had one of those spring rests that the arrow stayed on. i learned to keep my arrow on that pretty well. since i started shooting a release 10 yrs ago i moved to a prong style and rarely had any arrow movement at first and now i wont say never, but it hasnt happened in about 5 yrs that the arrow has fallen off while hunting.

Dave, if you hunted in a particularly windy area, or did some stalking, I'd say the "WB" was an improvement over a fork type rest (I assume a prong type rest). I use a fall-away, but I mess with alot of different arrows and fletching patterns. If what you have is working, your not missing out on anything.

A whammy has great containment. Can lay the bow almost on its side and still holds arrows. If you like a prong style rest you will love a whammy. I know I'm on here always singing the praises of the Spot hogg Whammy but I really do believe in the product. It is a fantastic rest. As long as you are not hanging from the tree upside down it should work perfectly. Design wise it is the best rest on the market. The Fastest rest on the market is a Whammy... Hands down.

Still using my Quick Tune 3000 for everything. I believe some drop away rests work great, and I like the idea of a full containment rest. I just can't bring myself to change rests, yet. I tried a WB carbon arrow rest. It makes noise as I draw my arrow. Deer may or may not hear it, but I can, and that's too much noise for me. Mole skin prong covers are absolutley silent.:thumb:
