Just wondering if anyone has heard any info (rumors) as what HOYT may/may not be offering for model year 2005. I've heard some info may be available around the 18-20 of October.

View Full Version : Model year 2005 Hoyts bsand 10-06-2004, 08:04 PM Just wondering if anyone has heard any info (rumors) as what HOYT may/may not be offering for model year 2005. I've heard some info may be available around the 18-20 of October. bsand 10-09-2004, 02:40 PM Found some information on another forum from a "Hoyt Dealer" who said there will be three new models this year all in the Hardwoods Green camo. 35.5" ATA 7" brace height IBO=304 37.5" ATA 7" brace height IBO=303 32.5" ATA 7.5" brace height IBO=300 Anyone find anything else? CA Rcher12 10-12-2004, 06:20 PM Will they feature Hoyt's TEC riser? bsand 10-12-2004, 07:49 PM Your guess is as good as mine but I would assume they would have the "TEC" riser since they have been so successful. elktalker 10-31-2004, 06:18 PM I do know the xtec is not being changed this year bsand 11-01-2004, 11:03 AM The only thing changed relative to the XTEC is the speed rating, it went from 310 FPS to 300 FPS. Nothing appears to have changed but it lost some speed somewhere. This info is from comparing the 2004 and 2005 Hoyt catalogs. arrow1b 11-02-2004, 01:46 PM The Xtec is now called the vtec, I have shot all the new bows CA Rcher12 11-02-2004, 06:56 PM How 'bout the Cam 1/2? I personally hate timing twin cams! bsand 11-02-2004, 08:11 PM The Xtec was not replaced by the VTec. Both are in the 2005 Hoyt catalog and I have shot both 2005 models. The Xtec and Vtec risers are somewhat different. Speed wise the Vtec is rated at 305 and the Xtec is at 300fps. Both are 35.5" ATA and both have a 7" brace height. My new Vtec should be delivered in about a week...I hope. arrow1b 11-03-2004, 12:58 PM Lets face it it's the same bow. I would love to shoot these through a chrono side by side. I'll bet one's not faster than the other. The only difference between the two are a couple nipples on the riser, and the limb savers. The new grip you can have. I think only reason the xtec is still in the line is because there's alot of extra ultra tec risers laying around at hoyt. Chris 11-03-2004, 06:53 PM The new bows are very nice. The catalog doesn't do them justice. They look much better in person. But that's just my opinion. I'm looking at the new blue fusion protec for my choice of toys. bsand 11-04-2004, 09:15 AM It is no secret that the Xtec and the Ultratec used the same riser..the difference being the limb choice for each model and thus changing the ATA. The Xtec being 35.5" and the Ultratec being either 37.5 or 40.5". If you don't like the new "wrap around grip" you can order a 2005 with the side plates style grip...or you can buy something other than a Hoyt. CA Rcher12 11-04-2004, 07:16 PM They're out now! www.hoytusa.com Sportsman 11-12-2004, 03:09 PM What happened to the Supertech? Was that only our 1 year? bsand 11-13-2004, 04:01 PM Hoyt made the SuperTec in both 2003 and 2004. |
