I was thinking of setting up one of my old compound bows for fishing. I noticed that alot of compound bowfishing rigs from the manufacturer are 0% let off. I was curious why:noidea:. Is there an advantage? Or is a let off a disadvantage?

I am using an old Bear Black Mag I got back in 82' (29"/55# about 50-60% let off). I know it will work just fine, I have seen guys set up all sorts of fishing bows.

Anyone else out there with a fishin rig?
If so, whatcha got?

A lot are zero letoff so you do not have to be a full draw to shoot it. This is for very quick shots.

Shoot what you got for a fishing rig. Go out and have a good time. A buddy setup a Hoyt Pro-Elite for bow fishing. We were telling him it was the most expensive bow fishing rig ever made.

That makes alot of sense to me now, thanks.
I used to use a 50# recurve but I haven't been out in, so I figured I'd set up the compound.

I have a freind that uses a switchback. I thought that was an expensive fishin' rig.

I shoot a PSE Lightning Flite II, small wheels, very smooth draw and it wacks um just fine. This time of year nothin is more fun. although still like shootin 3-d on sunday mornings. I look foward to bow fishing and getting more people into it. The new guy at work wants to try it so maybe when i get back from this weekends trip to NC, Ill take him out and look for some big blue under water targets.

Yeah. Browning Baracuda is based on the Midas and Pse Shark. Both nice setups. I was looking at them before.
