I am at work out of the country with what looks like a major hurricane looking at my house. I went though Katrina, but I was home and able to do things to help people that needed help. I won't be home for another 25 days, :frusty: with only my kids and girlfriend to take care of things and get ready. I know that my boys will take care of things and be alright, but I want to be there for my family. :frusty: :frusty: :frusty:

Thanks fiddle. I want to be there for them, they understand that Dad has to work though.
hopefully it's gonna turn west or die down. I was looking at a projected storm track earlier and it looked like it was gonna be below hurricane force before it reached landfall.

We got what you would call a direct hit frim Katrina, 15 miles west of eye. My house was fine, but my moms house was destroyed by a tree falling. She would not leave, but was having second thoughts when the tree fell. It is just:frusty: when you know that you could be there and doing something to help those that need help.
When Katrina passed, my boys and I were clearing roads for emergency vehicles and cutting people out of houses. Patching roofs and trying to save what some people had left. It will be up to them this time.

Thats a freaky deal...how old are the boys? I'm sure they'll take care of things but I can understand what you're saying...

Do you have any vacation time you can burn to go home and handle your business, or are you pretty much stuck there? It seems a company would understan something like that.

My boys are 15 and 17. My girlfriend has a son 17 also. They are all "country" boys and raised on cutting wood and running chain saws. I think that they will be just fine, I just want to be there with them. :bowl:

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. We braved Hurricane Andrew and have survived several others and I sympathize with your frustration but hopefully all will be well.
