They were amazed we had 2750 acrs to hunt. They told me most of Ohio is small acres of land. They had a good time. Good guys. Not sure where the land is but its close to where the Beatty Buck was shot because I saw a newspaper clipping and Mike said it was less than 30minutes to where it was shot.

phillip 09-24-2008, 10:27 PM Hey guys hope to find everyone doing well. I hunt southeast texas and have a pretty good year every year. I'v been hunting the big thicket NF for a few years now with grate results with hogs and deer. This year we have had a lot of acorns on the ground so it should be a good one.
For myself I wont be hunting this year, my family and I took a bad hit from hurricane Ike. everyone came through ok but we lost almost everything.
and wouldent you know my bow and gear was part of the lose.:frusty:
But anyway you folks be safe this year in the woods and good luck to all and God bless.

INbowhunter75 10-30-2008, 09:14 PM I have a delima. I started hunting three years ago with my bro in law. He is a great deer tracker (he found my first deer just six weeks in to hunting). Well he went to Iraq and Afghanistan for two hunting seasons. I di not hunt much in my home of Indiana those years because he was not around - plus my awesome son was born during this time. Now I am in NC and he is in Maine for good (out of military). We had a great week of hunting here in NC in November. But my sister's car was broken in to and they have suffered a financial loss as a result making the trip to NC cancelled. I get all excited when I see the pics and stories of others deer they have harvested. Then when it is time to get on the stand its not the same without my hunting buddy not here.
Have any of you felt this way? How do you get out of this rut and still get aloft during the pre-rut and rut?
