I realize this is a compound bow site, bu does anyone have know if you can use any broad head with a crossbow or what? My father in law just got a Barton with a special permit and needs to get set up. Can he just use Rage or does it have to be a special crossbow broadhead?:usa: :noidea:

If the bolts stick out past the end of the crossbow, you can shoot what you want. The only problem with mechanical heads is the speed at which the crossbow shoots. Some mechanicals will open when shot from a crossbow.
If the bolts are shorter than the end of the crossbow. You will have to shoot a fided blade head. Line up the blades with the vanes and shoot away. Most bolts will be long enough to stick out past the riser of the bow.

I would not recommend mechanicals with a crossbow.

They sell a NAP Thunderhead Magnum which is 170 grains and is made specifically for crowwbow hunting. My neighbor uses them and they are really stout.

My father-in-law has no problems shooting a 100 gr NAP Spitfire out of his Bowtech Stryker. Very accurate, and at 400 fps the blades won`t open.

Go to a solid broadhead that extends past arrow slot. You "may" shoot a [U][B]tuned arrow IF you make very sure it will stay with allow slot.
