Our club has heard about other clubs doing "Turkey Shoots" and giving away frozen turkeys for prizes instead of cash payouts. However; we want to get some of the new shooters and not so good shooters winning some of the prizes instead of the best shooters always winning in each class (Hunter/Traditional/MBR/Open). We also want to get away from the "door prize" drawing for the way to win. So here are my questions...

If anyone has done one of these, how was it run, rules, etc.???

How do we get the "so so" shooters winning instead of the best shooters always winning?

And how do you get away from the door prize drawing?

Any suggestions will be a great help...

Easy...

Give them the yardages :biggrin1:

Will be worth a good laugh anyway to see them whoop up on the "best shooters".

Yep, you would eliminate some of the pencil whipping if the yardage is marked. And try to make sure the groups have at least one outsider in with them to help keep people honest.
