How many people are still shooting foam right now? Our club has a fall classic this weekend and after that I'll probably be finished up. Anyone else still shooting or have you shifted gears into the hunting mode?

3D's have all but went the way of the dodo bird out this way beacuse of land availability.... Limited field and indoor shoots still exist if you want to drive a ways.

Redid my hunting bow today. Set my field points back on going to River Valley Bowhunters on Sunday.

Feel the need for foam one more time with hunting bow. Pictures will most likely follow. 3D Arkansas Style.:D

Rick, you've got to be kidding........not one single shoot?

RonHop...sounds like a sad situation.....I feel for ya man.

Our deer season has started but I can't get into hunting in 85 degree heat.

I've got one more shoot sunday, then our season is over. Our hunting season starts in about 8 1/2 hours, and I'm about to put my hunting clothes in the dryer, and get to bed. I doubt I'll be able to sleep, but I'm going to bed.:D

Our Club shoots 12 months a year. Being in the Phila. area, it iis usually not much below freezing in the day, if at all, and we don't get much snow. If it does, it usually doesn't last too long.
We get around 30-35 shooters each month between Oct - Feb. March is the start of the 3D season, and that's a much better turnout.
There is a local indoor 3D league locally, that shoots Sat/Sun each week between Jan and the April. Uses 3 indoor sites.

Everything around here is done for the year - it's almost time to hit the woods.

Seriously Darrel. I worked an extra job most of the summer and I only have every other weekend off to begin with. I plan on going to some next year for sure though.

I have been keeping numbers of our 3D shooters for the last ten years and have seen a decline since 2000. Any ideas why? I know gas was a reason this year but do not believe it entirely since it has been happening for the last eight. I suspect other interests have become a priority. Perhaps a shooter does not feel he can compete if he does not stay current with the latest bow and or practice a lot.

Yeah archerybuff, we miss the local 3D's that we used to have.
Too many issues to even mention in a post.
I'd grow old and greyer than I already am if I listed them... :frusty:

Bummer. We don't want you any older or greyer so I won't ask. Sometimes we take for granted what we do have.

Not true for Oklahoma/Texas. Last year my state had over 14 ASA state qaulifiers. I know of two new clubs/ranges for next year.
Oklahoma has it going on and so does my friends in the Texas State. I attended the ASA state shoot in Texas and they had the largest turnout ever. ASA numbers were not down as well. Im really surprised with the economy like it is. I do feel it may suffer in time. Hunters are certianly not traveling as much either.
