Is the green trees or wooded areas and the rest field, crops? What are we looking at? the green trees are pine trees and the fields are just tall grass with little trees mixed in, and there r some hardwoods but there r also no leaves in the pic so its hard to tell and its a big hill, everything above the pines being the top and below the bottom red44 10-07-2008, 08:46 PM If you hunt the does and forget about the buck rubs you'll see more deer. The bucks will be looking for the does shortly. Can you get downwind of the bedding area? Not too close though. Any active crops that they're feeding in? How about water sorces? Ronhop 10-07-2008, 09:24 PM Hey your doing some homework. Where is there water and where is there a fenceline, or if there is one ? You're doing more than most people I know who have been hunting deer for 40+ years. And I would not say you don't have a clue on stand location. I think you probably have multiple stand location possibilities depending on prevailing wind and a water source. As one poster mentioned food location is also a good question, but depending on that water might be a bigger key. Maybe try and do a little more detail on your pic. Good luck though, and like I said, you're walking down the right path in getting this figured out. Ron |
