OK i know everyone has a "The one that got away story" But im tellin the truth on this one. I was hunting the corp land this morning and hear a noise behind me. I figured well its just a doe. Nope!!!! I turn around and low and behold there is a 10 point at least 18-20" i know for a fact the antlers reached at least 4-5 inches behond the ears. This is the largest buck i have ever seen. He hung out for probably 10-15 min behind me and being back there i did not have much of a shooting lane so i watched until he came to the side of me where i had about a 12" spot to shoot through so i range him at 32 yrd draw back grunt to stop him in the opening and BOOM! yah not the sound of my bow but a cow coming out of the brush behind me and there goes the buck running off into the woods  Go figure! I was so pissed that cow walked right under my stand so i hit him with my water bottle :peace: Pay back! Anyway the buck ended up coming back out but came out of the brush at about 60yds and walked the other way. Oh well at least i know where he is hanging out so i can spend all my time in that area waiting on him (: I looks like thats his tearitory cause he was not scitish at all. He just walked around eating from the trees. Well maybe ill get him in the future.

just dont over use the area, or you will never see him again.......
also, dont get so stuck on this deer that you start hunting ghosts......
by that I mean, be prepared that someone else may shoot him today, and you are then putting all your effort into a deer that aint even there.....had it happen plenty of times.....:frusty:

Don't feel to bad I missed a nice 9 pt the other night about 18 inches wide...... I just got out of the stand and I was walking in and I pop over the hill and him and a spike were cruisin together. Well I waited figured he was gonna be headed to the woods anytime now. Well I was wrong and should of took the shot at 45 yards but I waited to long and he wandered out to about 60 yards. so I set my sight and what do you know I blew it and never decided to stop him. I ended up shooting right over him.
So don't feel to bad atleast you didn't wiff an easy chip shot!!!
