Hey guys/gals
Just wanted to share some experiences from this year. In the past it seemed to me that when a deer snorts, all bets are off and you are probably going to see anything, but!!!!!!! on three occasions this season it was quite different.
Occasion #1 i had a deer snort near where i walked into my spot. made me think about my hunting heigene, but i had my rubber boots on and i was down wind from the deer. Not sure what the snorting was about, but 5 minutes later she came from where she snorted right to me.
Occasion #2 I had two doe in front of me and the old lady ended up winding me I think. As she was on the hill snorting away, the yearling was under me, and from where she was on the hill a 9 pt came in and i ended up killing him.
Occasion #3 i had a 7 pt coming in and he winded me, no doubt about it nose in the air and he winded me. he ran about 75 yards and was snorting. The two doe with him paid no attention and kept feeding into range of the inline muzzleloader.
Persistance!!!!!
