First of all I don't really care who everyone votes for as long as they make up their own minds.

Secondly, let me say that I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican. Neither a liberal nor a conservative. I am a moderate that researches the candidates and make up my own mind. With that being said:

Thirdly the congress is democratic, but by a simple majority which in effect renders that majority, in all practicality, useless. The senate is evenly divided at 49/49 and the other 2 being independents.

We blame the current financial problem on Carter and Clinton (Democrats) for making credit too easy to get. Granted it opened up a "Pandora's Box" but it was not them that held a gun to our heads and made us abuse what could've been a good thing. By and far it was us, as a society, that abused it. We need to stand up as a people and take the blame. Remember, at the end of the Clinton administration, the Government had balanced the books and was not only operating in the green but actually had a small surpless. Where is our budget at today. We are at the biggest deficit this country has ever seen. Sure the Govt. Made credit easy, but with the intent of helping everyone of acheiving the "American Dream". BUT WE ABUSED IT.

Remember it was the Nixon/Reagan?Carter administrations (Especially Reagan) that opened up our borders and caused the biggest influx of jobs leaving this country. We not only opened up our borders to foreign companies but also put incentatives to our companies to move out and subsidized the studies to see if it would be cost effective for the companies and even helped with some of the monies concerned to do so. And it was the Reagan admistration that broke the back of the Unions. And it was the Reagan/ Nixon admistration that caused the majority of deregulations of the majority of companies. This opened up a corporate greed situation like never before.

We complain about the gas prices. Those of you that are old enough to remember the 70's know about the gas crunch we had then. Same bullcrap we have now. We responded by coming out with more fuel efficient vehicles until everything quited down and soon as the gas crunch was over we responded by buying SUV's and every gas guzzler we could get. The difference now 'tho is we also have Chavez from Venualsa (Spelled wrong) and Iran using gas as a tool to bring the U.S. to our knees.)

We blame the Govt. for everything but it is us as a people that need to be blamed. Anyone that says they are a strict Republican or a strict Democrat is a fool in my own opinion. Vote for the person, not the party. The trouble with Congess is that everone basically votes along party lines. Let's face it, if an idea is a good idea then it should be voted on by it's own merits and not because of what party brought it up. And we are as guilty as they are. Our govt. is run by corporate and special interest lobbiest and lets face it, The #1 concern of all politicians is to get RE-ELECTED. So let's use our power of the vote to rid the Govt. of the people controlled by this and start researching the candidates and start voting for or aginst the person and not by their party affiliation.

We, as the American People, need to start taking the blame for where this Country is and quite blaming the Govt. We are the one's that put them in office. Sure the Govt. made loans easier to get, but it was us that abused the system. Sure it was the Govt. that opened up our borders to foreign trade and gave incentivies to our companies to move out. But it is us that have the choice on where to shop and what to buy. It is our own personal greed that has us shopping at places like Walmart (Who at one time built their reputation on American made products) who are now the biggest scab importer of foreign made products in the world. It is us that buy and drive the gas-guzzleres. We are the ones that have made the US the largest gas importers. We are the ones that have made the US dependent on the worlds gas supply. It is our own laziness, greed and trying to maintain "Status Quo" that have gotten us where we are at.

We need to stand up and take the blame for where we're at. We are the Govt. Quit voting along party lines and vote for the individuals own merits and send the message to both parties that if you don't do it right we are going to get rid of you and we don't care what party you are with. It is us, as the people, that have the power. We just forgot how to use it. We let the news media do the thinking. We have just gotten to damn lazy. We need to stand up. take responsiblity and remember who we are as a nation.

And the sad part is I am as guilty as all of you.
