Hello. I am new to this site. What would cause my sons arrows (during flight) to swoop or not fly straight? They are clearing the rest so I am not sure what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.

Weight of arrows or type. And bow and poundage?

The swooping
is it like a car fish tailing from side to side
or like a porpoise going up and down in the water
you can tell by standing right behind him and watching the back end of the arrow

Could be a combination of nock point height on the string, arrow rest height, arrow rest left/right adjustment, arrow too stiff/weak, point weight too high/low, fletching/rest clearance, etc... Check out the Easton bow tuning guide on www.eastonarchery.com. It's a .pdf file you can download for free which is very good reading and talks about arrow flight, arrow/point weight/arrow spine, bow tuning, nock point and rest adjustment, etc.... It also covers different shooting equipment and styles like recurve/traditional, coompound and finger/release shooting styles.

My son was having the same sort of wounded duck happen ever once in a while:noidea: So i started watching every shot till the day i seen it... letting down of backwall a tad right at shot...the worse the let down the woesr the arrow flight..so when all is good on setup look to the shooter
