Hello Everyone, I was browsing Value Village, a thrift store we all know for bargains. I came across a Brand New Quad, Large Base Walker the elderly used for $5.00.
Guess what I did with it? I added a Belt loop bow sling and slid it over the foam rubber handle for a snug fit, and fastened a black tube quiver with plastic tie wraps to the cane, with the quiver resting solid on the canes massive base. There is even room to slide my binocular case on the handle beside the looped bow sling. The entire setup took less than a minute.
And get this, the bottom chrome base is like 10 inches by 5 inches, and the cane length is adjustable in height up to 4 feet, collapsed height is less than 3 feet. So later, I am also thinking of a coffee cup holder, cause the bottom base is that large, and just to be An*l retentative at 3-D shoots.
Anyways it is sturdy, solid, weighs like a pound, and can hold two bows, even outdoors on not so uneven ground, as I tried it in my backyard on the grass, it holds steady and rock solid even with a recurve and a Compound together.
So best get to a thrift store before every other archer does, if word gets out and it catches on.
A Great thing to bring to a 3-D shoot.
I also came across one of those used hospital bed wheeled adjustable height tables for $15.00, you know the wheeled ones they serve your food on when you are in bed.
It has that adjustable hand crank to raise and lower the table part, perfect for a bow workbench, and has an inside rim to catch all your bow parts, especially those damn tiny allen screws.
No more fixing your bow on the dining room table and pee'oing the wife or girlfriend! Just add a bow vise and Bobs yer Uncle.
I have attached DIY how to photos I did from my photoshop, cause my camera batteries are dead, but rest assured once I get batteries I will post an actual photo of my sweet setup on here.
So hope you go out an "Git Er Done"!
