View Full Version : What is the difference in back tension shooting and "other?"

I was wondering what exactly is the difference in the different styles? I am still looking forward to buying a new bow that I can shoot lots of arrows through (the Parker I currently have only allows me to shoot 15-20 before my shoulder starts feeling it...and my accuracy reflects it). My buddy pointed out that my form was all wrong because I was standing perpendicular to the target (like a golfer) and reaching across my body to shoot. I've seen other guys shoot that way, but my buddy does shoot much better than me on a regular basis! I tried shooting more "squared off" to the target, but it completely affected my line of sight (draw length?).

Should I try to adjust the bow to my shooting style or change my shooting style? Or both?!?

Thanks,

KM

Generally speaking, when you are shooting, place an arrow across the toes of both feet. The arrow should be pointing to your target.

Now you can slightly open your stance but do not get carried away with it.

Chris,

Thanks for clearing that up for me...before I started trying to teach myself bad habits!
