Shoot them all and see which ones feels best and is in your price range. No one can tell you what you'll like the best. It's all persoanl preference.

I started with a BPS Redhead Kronik. So far so good. I picked it because it just felt right when I picked it up. I could have said Ford Pinto on it and it wouldnt have made a difference to me. Hope this helps.
TREESTANDSNYPER 11-17-2008, 08:09 PM None of the above...Martin! Great bows at great prices. They've got models for the beginner archer to the serious tournament shooter...no matter what your looking for they have you covered. Great bow for a beginner would be the Martin Cheetah, they're goin for around $350. You can get it with an STS, and the CCS( martin's rollerguard) for a little more.

Allen 11-19-2008, 08:12 AM I know that this isn't the sexy choice, but the PSE Nova has what a new shooter needs.
It's cheap so you don't sink so much into the bow that you can't afford good arrows and accessories.
It's a forgiving design, with fairly long ATA, good brace height and a straight riser.
Most of the Nova cam systems are easily adjustable for draw length. Draw length is much more important than most new archers understand. Also, it's not something that is static. It often changes as an archer gets better and develops their shot, so adjustability is a good thing.
The one thing that's not good about the Nova is the grip. It's so wide that most archers don't shoot well with it. Take it off and wrap the handle with tennis racket tape.
It's not the quietest or most shock free bow around, but a few limb savers and string things will make it acceptable.
Shortshaft 11-19-2008, 09:19 AM Buy what you like and shoot the string off it. It ain't so much what you got but how you use it I'm thinking. Ss.
CJKOLCUN 11-19-2008, 01:00 PM Look into PSE main line.

J.A.G. 11-19-2008, 04:27 PM I started with a Hoyt and it has been the only brand I have shot up until my Pearson position.
The first one i bought new.. package deal on an Ultrasport hunting set up, total of near $400.. after that i bought my bows used, Ultramags for around $300 and i have never regretted it. They have been great bows with never a problem, never.
