I have 7 Easton X-7 Cobalt 2312 arrows cut to 27 1/2 inches
They are feathered in black and red
1 of the seven arrows has a groove about 1 3/4 inches long close to the tip of the arrow but still appears to fly well with no problems
The feathers show little if any wear at all
