I finally got my first bow kill this year after 5 yrs of actual hunting not including deployments to the "sandbox". I helped all my friends harvest deer this year except myself so time finally paid off. I got a Nubbins Buck this saturday around 800am at 12 yards from an Ameristep Sniper Ground Blind. Hit it with a Browning Illusion bow, Golden Tip XT Hunter Arrows and 100gr Spitfire XP Pro broad heads. As soon as the arrow hit him he it the ground and got up running. He only went about 60yds and called it quits. I got both lungs broke 2 ribs coming in and going out with nice entry holes easy tracking job. The deer is by no means a monster dressed out around 80lbs but thats about the Normal around Fort Benning GA biggest deer so far was only 140lbs and the was 13pointer. I would also like to thank all the members who have helped me also harvest my deer by answering questions and giving me their thoughts on the subjects I had questions about and your experience as well. And Daniel Boone who helped me replace my strings for my release and rest. So for all you guys/gals appreciate the help. I got to post pictures tommrow got to download software for my new computer. And if anyone can explain how to make the pictures bigger that would be nice.

Nice harvest. Sounds like you made a great shot and down he went.
I'm sure this is the first of many for you.

First and foremost, thanks for your service to our country. Congrats on your first bow kill and hope that there are many more to come. My first bow kill was a doe about the size of your deer while I was stationed at Altus AFB OK. There have been many more since and the thrill is always the same. Enjoy the meat and have a Merry Christmas.
