Time to screw in the long stabilizers, sight in the scopes, nock your fat shafted arrow and hang up a paper target. Find yourself 60 feet and start flinging arrows.

It is 5-Spot Smack Down time........................

Here are some rules......

1. Have fun.
2. Scores must be shot from whatever distance you have available. 20 yard is the preferred distance.
3. Target face must be the official NFAA 5 spot target face (you can shoot all arrows at the NFAA single spot if you want)
4. Scoring will be 5 for arrows in the white, 4 in the blue (X counts as an 6)
5. We will be shooting 12 ends with a possible score of 360, 60x
6. Score line cutters for the higher score.
7. Scores must be PM'd to me by each Wednesday at midnight. You can shoot the score anytime before that. Once you submit a score, that is the one that counts. No submitting a better score later on.
8. Be honest. This is for everyone's benefit. You will not improve as an archer if you cheat yourself.
9. Have fun.

PM me the scores in the following format:

30,30,30,30,30,30,30,30,30,30 60x

X's counted as 6's will help with tie breakers and scoring. I will keep track of X counts also and maybe we can have a prize for the largest X count at the end.

Depending on the number of shooters, I will sit down one or several shooters each end. At the end of the sit down, points will be assigned by finishing position. The top 10 shooters will receive points. 10 points for 1st place, 9 for second, 8 for 3rd, etc. These points will be used to keep track of the standings through the 5 weeks.

If I have forgotten anything, please let me know. Please keep this thread on topic so I don't have to wade through a bunch of nonsense. Each week, I will start a new thread with the date on it so we can find them easier.

1st scores are due by Wednesday, January 7th at midnight or before I wake up thursday morning.....:biggrin1:

I'm not JCMORGAN31 but if you click on his username in this thread and then scroll down to "send a private message to jcmorgan31". You will then have to title the PM I use the date usually. And then in the message area just post your scores. In this format. 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 360 Score for each 5 arrows for all 12 ends and then total them up. Just remember X's count as 6 in this league. If you have any questions just ask.

after i fletched up 6 arrows with my new x7 arrows so i could pratice with the new arrows and WOW you all are in trouble!
299 with 42 spots here we score our scores 300 60 but using the scoring that we are using here its a 341 with 42spots am i right?
spot count went way up with the new arrows no more flyers unless i get stupid with my form!!!

Yep...... Hour # 11 of my 12 hour day, then I'm gonna run to the club and shoot my 300 round, then get home around 1030 and head out to the shop to build 2 sets of strings and print samples for SureLoc, Athens Archery and Vortex. I'm hoping to get to bed before 3am.

My scores have been turned in and they are better but still not worth bragging about. I DID get 1 30 though.... :peace:

Meat this week is stuffed pork rib chops smothered in cream of mushroom soup, whole kernel corn, green beans and french fried onions. With some crusty French bread on the side to slap up the liquid with.... Pan seared and cooked in a crock pot for about 6-7 hours on low. Yum... :hungry:

So, potato salad it is.... Whatever relish you use will work for us. Most of us are FBSA members so we eat anything that's edible. And I'll see ya on the pine with some tweezers in hand myself. Man, I should buy stock in tweezers.... :bowl: I don't think I have any exam gloves though so you're donation would be much appreciated, you can check the cooties at the door though. I'll also check out the new pic. Still a sweety though.

Hey glad the new bow is doing good. I'm still struggling but the 82nd is starting to like me and vice-versa... That beast has been a labor of love and/or hate, depending on how you look at it. :frusty:

I've got some Chilean Malbec ready... It's been aging in Hungarian Oak for a year now.. So get you tweezers, bring your wine glasses & plates, and meet me in the cellar for a barrel tasting! Heck, I might even pull the cork on a bottle of my prized Italian Amarone if Mrs. Squid stays in it past the 6th round!

I have already turn in my score for this 3rd week smack :doh: I'll clean up around the bench area Ron, jc, while everyone shoots up there ends for the finish.

JDX and Morgan's tips with the BT release just help me shoot my first 360 round. Thanks guys I owe you a drink.........
I will not use this rounds score for week 4 smack cause I always shoot on Friday for my score but wow it is so awesome to know I can due it......I'm on cloud Nine :D

soldeirmom got her bow lined out. when we went wed. to shoot their was an older gentleman there shooting. its amazing how God works. he came over and helped her out so much. I believe God put him there just to help her, because the shop guys weren't there. guys we might be in trouble in the next few weeks.
