There's always other qualifiers that we can have fun and "shoot it out" in one class.

There's one in CT this year. Also, the one in NJ that me and Vonotto went to last year wasn't too far.

We got time to figure it out.

It's not $39 at every shoot. Just Springfield because they include the membership to the Mass Bowhunters. Actually I really wish they made that an option.

The qualifier in NJ was only $15. $10 if you were just shooting the course and not trying to qualify.

THEY REALLY NEED TO MAKE THAT AN OPTION.......I mean its the ONLY thing that makes me hesitant to go......

What does being a memeber of the Mass Bowhunters do for a guy that DOES NOT go to Mass except for this shoot and a few rabbit shows???

Just go to one of the qualifiers in New York in the spring and skip the Mass. shoot. I know I wont be at the Mass shoot I will be on Vacation .

Agreed.

I would skip the shoot as well because of the price but, for me, it's real challenging. I have not shot well yet there. The indoor thing really screws with my yardage estimation. Half way through last year it clicked for me. By then, it was too late!:frusty:

OK, you're AHC and HTH is wanting MBR...refresh my brain, whats the difference in ACH and HC, besides yardage? IBO.net is down and my mags are at home...

They allow use of Blazer vanes....

BUt that's moot since the HC now allows vanes of 2 inches - actually measured 1.75 inches in - so you can use Bohning's Blazer or Blazer X2 (1.80 inches...:peace: )...

I placed well in HC last year, but would have done better in AHC....IF that extra few yards is good to me.

HC is screw in points, NOT SURE ABOUT AHC on this...

AHC & HC 12" stab and no more than 4 pins all of the same size...

There may be more, I can't see AHC and HC being the same things except for 5 more yds...

According to the '08 rule book -

The differences:

HC - Yellow stake
AHC - Red Stake

All other equipment rules are the same.

The major difference is that AHC shooters are eligible for monetary awards and Shooter of the Year.

HC is considered entry level Adult and trophies are the only awards. The rules do state that monetary awards can be offered in HC randomly. Guess it depends on the club.

if they are different stakes, then how are they shooting the same line at the qualifier??:noidea:

AHC is screw in points also.

We are gonna hold our first IBO Qualifier this year on June 28. The Rules and Classes are giving me a ulcer.
Hopefully we can have it all figured out by 2010 and hold two that year.

MBR and MBO are different stakes and shoot the same line at Springfield as well.
The first year I shot was MBR and we shot with the Open guys. 2 Guys in my group last year shot MBR while I was MBO.

I think it's a little harder to break things up indoors. MBO max is 50 but I don't remember taking a 50yd shot last year.

ALSO......

in the INVITE, it clearly STATES, that HC and AHC are a 4inch minimum vane....

so who is calling them to get clarrification on the rule.....

I will do it if you guys want me too.....:noidea:

No need to call and clarify - if you are worried - just take a printed copy of the addendum to the shoot...they never check gear anyways....it's a very laid back shoot.

And yes...it can be disheartening....qualifying at 35 max for a 45 yard max class....

So now I am debating - HC or AHC:decision:

It is totally up to Virg and John...They are off weekends - I am not...it is way easier for me to take off then for them I think...I would prefer Thursday, but Saturday is 100 percent fine too.

Someone quote me here....:D

I'm easy.
