You do not want the fingers tight. You need some room for the shaft to flex. wyoming4x4 01-23-2009, 09:05 AM The hostage pro has adjustable brushes just for this type of situation. I was told they have new brushes out for the rests that will last longer. I like the hostage rest for hunting but don't like the wearing of brushes. If anyone shoots with the new brushes drop me a note. I shoot a 340 axis full metal jacket on a marquis diamond. Really liked the simplicity of the hostage/hostage pro rests for hunting. hunter2678 01-23-2009, 09:11 AM I heard some mumblings about the wearout on them as well..how many shots did it take for you top get noticeable wear on the "old ones" wyoming? wyoming4x4 01-23-2009, 09:26 PM I heard some mumblings about the wearout on them as well..how many shots did it take for you top get noticeable wear on the "old ones" wyoming? In a matter of probably 200 arrows. maybe a little more but maybe 300. I would get it dialed in and in about a week of shooting it seemed like I would be messing with my bow. Then once you notice its off then you adjust your nock point because you arrow would be low and paper tune would be wrong. I was always tuning on my bow. Later i bought a limbsaver drop away and then all the tuning went away. I just started shooting instead of messing with my bow. Really like what they are trying to do but brush wear was excessive. Once they figure out the brush wear it would be a awesome rest. Like the wisker biskit for hunting but hard on fletchings. i shoot a quickspin 3" fletching for hunting. So for now I shoot the limbsaver drop away and shoot great. i was shooting a 340 full metal jacket 11.1gpi. Total weight 483g and weight of arrow resting on brushes has an effect. I probably shot around 1500 arrows before I change to drop away. Shot hostage for awhile then went to pro hostage because of 340 axis arrow. Chris 01-24-2009, 09:35 AM Get the new brushes. It's supposed to be a lot better as far as wear is concerned. |
