And to say I was impressed was an understatement. I have never been much of a fan of any Matthews bow other than the original Switchback but this bow was nice. For a speed bow the draw cycle was very nice alittle hump at the end but not near as bad as I was expecting and it was very dead in the hand on the shot. All in all Matthews came out with a good one with this bow. If I was looking for a speed bow this would most definitely be at the top of the list.

Shot the monster the other day and it had some vibration in the string or something. didn't like it. Everything seemed to be in order as far as set up but had a strange vibe or buzz in string or something. It did pull ok but the buzz in string has to go.

Went and re shot the monster to make sure I wasn't just wrong. I shot it again and still had string buzz or something. Its in the limbs or string whatever it is. Also just before it breaks over it gets a little harder to pull then drops into its valley. I'm used to pulling smoother bows and bows that don't get noticably harder right before it breaks over. It was different for me. It shot ok but would shoot a captain or alphamax over the monster. Really like the sentinel also because its a longer bow. I shoot a marquis and constitution. I don't really care what brand I shoot as long as its smooth on draw back. O'yeah it had the littlebrass things in the dampners also and I believe it needs string suppressors or something on the monster.

Try one with the Mathews string suppressor, you will be pleased....

Draw cycle isn't for me and be hard to be smooth when a deer is in front of me. The bowtech's don't need anything to be quiet and fast. You can add all the supressors on the monster and not even close to a sentinel or captain or admiral. I've learned that speed isn't everything. That hump really sucks at the end. Like a smooth bow and monster isn't for me. probably gonna hurt some feelings but o'well.

I doubt it...well at least my feelings.

It's just another tool in the tool box. For me it is going to make a great 3D bow. I'm shooting it at 70# and don't find the draw anywhere near being unmanageable. It had a little more vibration than I am used to but a string stopper took care of that. At first it felt top heavy but I don't notice that any more. It's rock solid at the shot and is extremely forgiveing for a short BH bow.

This is definetly not a do all bow but if you are looking for speed try it...you may be pleasantly suprised.

I agree I do not think that this bow is a do it all bow, I was very surprise at the draw being as smooth as it was for a speed bow but there was a definate hump at the end. It did also feel a bit top heavy but not bad at all I didn't think, but I think it would make a great 3-D hunting bow as the little bit of top heaviness will help in the wind in my opinion. It is definately not a bow I would buy to shoot spots with that is for sure but I think it would be a good choice for hunting or 3-d. Of course once you get a stablizer, v-bars and sight on it, then it may change the feel of the bow completely.

I have to say that the last 2" of draw ruined it for me. Speed was impressive, but not much faster than my sniper (309 fps). It is a cool bow and I got to hand it to Mathews they have everyone talking about it. The one I shot had very little shock, and formed tight groups. It had a string supressor, but seemed a little noisy. I can't really put my finger on it, but kinda a bull whip sound at the end of the shot. I liked the bow, but if I shot 100 arrows with it I would need a shoulder replacement.

The waya bo sounds to the shooter is different than the way it sounds to a spectator.
I have not sho a Monster yet but one tingI have learned is that you perceive things in terms of sound differently when you are shooting the bow.
Stand next to somebody shooting it ad hear how it sounds. It might be more iet than you perceive when shooting it yourself.

My 82nd sounds loud to me. But if somebody else shots it and I'm standing next to them, the arrow fletching (Rayzr's) makes more noise than the bow does.

Weird....

I shot it a couple wks ago 29/70 and gave it an over all "B" with A being tops.I'll say the same thing i've said on other sites.....this bow isn't for everyone.I don't care for how top heavy this bow is and the last 3,4,5 inches of draw cycle is a bear and not much of a valley.I shoot 70/72 lbs everyday, but some who shoot this bow regurally is going to have some rotator issuse's sometime down the rd.Mho,if i was going to use it for hunting,i'd shoot the 60lb before making a pick.gl

I shot one set @ 65 lbs, I thought it shot well...Nothing will shoot like my Switchback but i know that. but for a speed bow it felt great. I plan to get one. I have a short draw so i need the monster to give me the speed. I also shot a alphamax verry nice bow...just dont have the speed of the monster...and i have always been a mathews Shooter :D

I've shot all three of these bows and I have to say ironically the smoothest to me was the monster, I didn't feel that valley or top heavy feel many discribe and speed was an understatement. Between the 7.0 & 6.5 the 7.0 was supposedly set at 70lbs and felt no different from my DXT, the 6.5 seemed wwaaaayy faster than the 7.0, but it was only set at 60lb. The draw on the 6.5 was more harsh, but not hard for me to pull. The rest was the Matthews convertable and the arrow kept falling off the rest, hince the draw.

Because I want a bow that is more versatile than my DXT, to be used for 3d, target and hunting, I'm leaning towards the Reezen. If it was for fun shooting and hunting only the Monster would be unanimous!!!
