New Mathews S2, hostage pro rest, 65@28, Readhead Max2 350 @ 28", release w loop.
Greetings, This set up is shooting really well, BUT I decided to see how it was shooting through paper and it is consistantly shooting point to right of fletching tear. According to instructions I should move the rest to the R. I do this and it helps but the set up is maxed out to the R. My concern is: If I look down the string to the line on the handle, line up the sights then the arrow shaft is pointing to the R. What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance Guys n Gals

Move the point to fletching. One other thing is have someone else shoot your bow and see if the same problem happens. Sometimes its not the bow but the shooter. Personal experience. I had a grip issue and thought it was the bow. I have since fixed this problem and now you can work on your problem. Good luck and keep us informed. O yeah those brushes on the hostage wear out kinda quick and was told they have newer brushes out that last a lot longer. Like the rest for hunting but wear out to quick for me. I shoot a lot and later went to a drop away.

glpoe how close are you to the side of the riser? If your closer than 5/8 to the center of the arrow, then you need to look at other things as well. Your grip (as mentioned), idler wheel adjustment, or arrow spine. And keep in mind a slight tear won't amount to squat in most cases. Don't drive yourself nuts.

I'm not familiar with the shaft you have listed, but if you're that inside and still tearing as you've described, you may be over spined.

I shoot my S2 62# with Carbon Express Maxima 250 cut to 26.5", 28" draw.

Maybe compare the Redheads to Maximas equivalent and see if you need a lighter arrow.

I have CE Maximna 250's that I have been shooting and thought they might be just a little lite (cut to 28.5") so I tried the stiffer shaft (Bass Pro Shop). I live in Snyder and the closest Archery shop is in Abilene. I may just need to make a trip back over there (that is where I bought the bow) to Texas Game Trail and seek professional help. I used the calculation on the box to figure the actual draw wt. of the bow to match the arrows and came up with the 350"s. I'll keep tinkering with it and git "er" figured out. It is not that it doesn't shoot well it is just that now I know the shaft is kicking a little left it bugs me a little. When I try to tune with broadheads it will probably cause me a little trouble.
Thanks to all you guys who posted.
Mr. Fisher, do you have a web address for the Abilene Bowhunters? Got three Grandsons that need more 3D shoots to go to.
Best Regards,

Depending on which rest you are using, cutting the Maixima 250's back just a little should help to stiffen them up just enough.

One note on the "recommended" shaft guides, remember, this is a law suit happy society... sometimes the manufacturers have to recommend the next higher shaft to cover their butts.

Also, don't get to hung up on paper tuning, try walk back tuning your set up, with close to Mathews' recommended center shot.

What is your total arrow weight?

Here is a good link to find all Texas ASA federation 3D shoots. Abilene is listed there also.

Thanks for the quick response to my questions you guys have been great. Thanks also for the link to the Texas ASA and the Abilene site. My Son and I shot over there many years ago and had a great time and would like to go again someday. He and I started shooting when he was in HS and now I have grandsons that are shooting and if I can just keep their interest us maybe we can keep them away from the "girls"...........for at least a little while longer.
