ASA qualifer this Saturday, May 23, one day only.

10 am shotgun start.

Quail Ridge Hunting& Sporting Clays out of Tecumseh, OK has added a 3D archery range this year and will be hosting an ASA qualifier.
I've been going here for years to hunt quail and its a top notch facility. Owner Dave Martin has thought of everything, cabins, a bunkhouse for youth events or large groups, covered pavilion with fans, sound system and a/v, sporting clays course, wobble trap, fishing ponds (Dave hosts many youth events here) not to mention quail, pheasant and chukkar hunting.... Now with the 3D archery course, this is a sportsman's paradise.
The archery range is available to shoot daily form 9-3, and the club hosts monthly tournaments for a $12 entry fee.

For the ASA qualifier, the fee is $27 (for regular entry)as is the others.. We will follow the same format as the recent shoots, and there will be a money class for the pros ($40) entry.

Concessions will be on site, and lunch will be offered as well. The targets are McKensie's, but they are center 12's.
This is a real nice place and as you will be able to tell, Dave has put a lot of work into it. I hope you all come out and see it for yourselves. It would be nice to see this a success.

for more info, see their website: http://quailridgeok.com

Directions:
On Interstate 40 exit #178 (Firelake Grand Casino west of Shawnee). Take Hwy 102 and travel south for 7.7 miles.

Travel 5.4 miles ( do not turn when pavement ends--keep going straight) and then turn back toward the northeast at the “Y” Bethel Curve Rd, then it turns into --Rattlesnake Hill Rd--

Go 1.2 miles. Turn north in our drive, AT THE OLD CEMETERY.

It's an awesome range!!!! My only gripe are the center 12's....other than that it's really nicely put together. Great lodge, great range, and an awesome setup for any shotgunners!

I'll be shooting at blue bottom and paris this weekend, or I'd be there for sure!!!

Dave doesnt shoot a bow and didn't know much at all about 3D archery, but went ahead and put in a range. Its been a big step and a learning process, but one thing is that he likes to do things right, and you will see he's put a ton of work into this. You all know that targets arent cheap, so if this range is successful, there is no doubt he will go and buy newer targets based on your input. We get a lot of hunters and people that arent so much into ASA, so the center 12's work fine for now.

Hope to see all my Oklahoma friends this weekend. This range is in my backyard,so to speak, so i hope you all come out and support it. It's great to see new ranges opening up, especially in central Oklahoma. Tell your OKC area friends about it.

Can't wait for you guys to see how he did the practice bags. :peace:

Luke and Annette are coming and said they would go to Paris on Sunday. We appreciate this club joining the ASA and having a Qaulifier. We need to try and come shoot it.

sorry i had to miss, my step dad came home with a 104 temp and pnuemonia and was sent straight to the hospital.
he is feeling better today. the goof even came to work for a few but promptly went home like we told him too. he's tough but not that tough. yikes!!

so had to help out a little down there so he would relax his mind and not worry. sorry guys, was really looking forward to shooting for a change.

we had a decent turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy the range and facility. The weather held out, no rain, but man it did get humid!
Being our first big shoot, we had a couple of minor glitches like the scorecards, but it was no big deal, it all went well.
we sure missed you Archerdad and Archerchick, but understand completely and hope he gets well soon.

umm Dan, i think young Adam pulled out the "whoop" today didn't he?
it was great of you guys to travel so far, we appreciate it and hope you'll come back again.. We have big dreams.. :)
