Being both LH and a shorter drawlength, it seems most of the bow shops in the area don't do a good job of stocking LH bows and definitely not in shorter drawlengths. I'd love to try some of the newer bows out there, butthey typically are RH, 70 lbs and 29" drawlength. I'm currently shooting a Bowtech Equalizer at 56 lbs and 26 inches that I like. The cams took some getting used to when switching from my Pearson McPherson Diesel at 58 lbs. The Diesel has a smoother draw. But, it isn't as fast as the Equalizer. I had to order the Bowtech Equalizer without trying it as there weren't any to try.
Should I try demoing right handed just to get the feel for the cams on a new bow? Other suggestions? BTW, I'm in the DFW, TX area.

Join the club! Lefty's get the shaft period. :frusty:
But since things aren't going to change we've got to play the hand we were dealt. Research reviews again and again till you've narrowed your list down as far as you can w/ out actually shooting them. I.e. - ata, bh, mass wt., etc...
Then shoot the remaining models RH around 5 - 10# less than you would w/ your left. Granted, you'll still probably feel like a monkey humping a fence post but, you'll get a decent idea of how the draw force feels. :D

It was like night and day between my McPherson Diesel and Bowtech Equalizer on the draw cycle. The Bowtech took a lot more to pull it back at the same poundage as the Diesel. These are the only bows I've tried at my draw length. Reading reviews is good stuff. I would guess that my Diesel is a smooth draw while the Equalizer is an aggressive cam draw. I'm used to the Equalizer draw now. But, I have no reference point to compare what I've used to the new top line bows like the Hoyt Alphamax, Mathews DXT or Passion or the new Bowtechs, etc.
Im a left to. 26 inch draw. Its hard to even find left handed sights at a pro shop. Everything I have to order.

Yes welcome to my world! Short draw and lefty makes it almost impossible to be able to test a bow in the store. If they have the bow in my DL then I will usually just test shoot it right handed. At least this way I can feel how it draws, feel the back wall, holding weight, and hand shock.

Is the Alpine Silverado Eclipse similar to the Sienna? How is the draw cycle? If you've tried a Bowtech Equalizer, how would it compare to the Eclipse or Sienna?
