I've just gotten into target archery and I'm getting ready to purchase a bow and all the trimmings in the next few weeks. Although I would love to coordinate my arrows with my red riser, I'm more concerned with being able to see where my arrow has hit the target (at 20 yards away). Are the non-fluorescent colors for vanes and/or nocks equally visible?

At 20 yards indoors, just about everything, but the dark colors, are pretty visable in the 5 spot and 3 spot targets. If there is any sort of decent light you should not have a problem. Personally I use a fluorscent pink and fluorscent orange vanes on my arrows, even for 3d, they still have to make the shot. But you sure can see those arrows.:biggrin1:

You will learn quickly that the last thing you want to do is see those arrows that are already in the target those shots are already "gone"......the only thing seeing them does is distract from your process on the next however many shots you take before going to pull......I switched from bright to black so that I could not see them untill it was time to pull......also if you start shooting 3-d and you shoot black makes it harder for your buddies to hold on your arrow......

It makes them harder to find on the ground too. I'd rather have my buddies arrow hunting than lose that one stray. Besides my buddies shoot worse than me:doh: . I use white/flo.yellow or white/ flo.green, they're pretty easy to spot and you can see blood on 'em real good too!

for hunting I like flo. green and white.......

Thank you all for your input. I think Bowman's point is a good one. I hadn't thought of the problem of being distracted by where previous arrows had gone. I'm sure that just focusing on form, rather than overly focusing on where my arrows are going, will lead to better groupings...at least, that is my hope anyway.

you could always try using some cresting wraps. It also makes your arrows easy to find incase you mess up.
