Not having too good of a season, not seeing many deer in areas i have been hunting for several years, and have done well in the past. seems like everyone around me is seeing and shooting, just in a slump i guess. JINXED, i hope not......!

It's past frustrating; it's infuriating. I've hunted four stands, used enough Scent-Away to make the owners rich(er), quit smoking in my stands (I dip now), hunted public and private land, done just about everything I've heard or read about being an effective hunter. In two years, I've seen one doe, who wasn't any bigger than my dog, and that was when I was lowering my bow down the tree just after sunset.
Thinking about taking up knitting.

I got a nice sock pattern you can try:hug:
maybe it's time to rethink your game plan and do some late season low impact scouting, If they won't come to you you got to go to them.

I hunt on private and public land, total scent control from baseslayers up, to the point that i don't even spit on the ground when i dip, i carry a bottle to spit in., just not seeing the deer. clothes are always washed, body is always washed, good wind, bad wind, rain, snow, clear days(few and far between in PA) i am not new to this sport, i have been bowhunting for 16 years or so, last year was my 7th consecutive year with an archery buck, and a few additional deer killed prior. just jinxed!:frusty: :frusty: :frusty:

Don't feel bad. I only saw 1 deer in a month, thank god I hit it with my arrow.
Last year was slow around here as well. But the week before thanksgiving everything came alive and we had deer all over.

Hopefully that big boy will be looking for love in all the wrong places.
Hang in there.

Last two seasons my favorite spot produced only 1 buck sighting. I blamed the numerous grouse hunters, but I'll never know for sure. Other hunters may have scouted my area, or hunted it when I wasn't there. I'm usually the only one in this small swamp. :noidea:
