View Full Version : Custom strings, which do u like and why?
Ohioarcher 12-09-2009, 04:26 AM Just wondering which strings everyone is shooting and why they like them. I'll start with mine.
I shoot VaporTrails custom strings on my Pearson Z32. They are very durabile and look great. The strings seem to have increased my fps from the stock strings and have no peep rotation. They are a great all around custom string.
hunter2678 12-09-2009, 06:41 AM For me its, Extreme Bow Strings....Not only is Ron an easy guy to talk to, but he goes the extra mile an does not 1 but a 2 step stretch process on his strings so when you get them on your bow there is absolutlely no stretch or creep. His serving jobs are 2nd to none as well. I'm priveledged to be a part of his team. :peace:
Gator eye 12-09-2009, 08:00 AM I ve had absolutely crap luck with after market strings makers.....and I ve tried quite a few different ones and haven't found one that lives up to the hype. The peep rotates, or the serving comes apart, wrong colors, wrong size, I even had the end of a cable come apart and break at full draw, I still have a mark across my chest from that one.
I'm going to pay the extra and go back to winners choice this year. They've set the standard on string quailty.

Thats a nice picture you have there. I had my last set of Winners choice strings break there on the end of the loop but it was my fault. I was testing my peep height and the release went off. Those were made with 452X. Hey you do stupid stuff they are going to break in the weakest spot and it does not matter who made them or what they are made from. They are only synthetic, not Titanium. My new strings are Extreme Bowstrings, fastest turn around time I have ever had and the strings were perfect to how I wanted them to look and the servings were nice and tight and the lengths were perfect.. Great Job Extreme and Thanks hunter2678 for the info.
FurBallz 12-09-2009, 11:12 AM Id have to say vaportrail as well.

J.A.G. 12-09-2009, 12:35 PM I've been using Xtreme strings made by Robert Ingram (asa3dpro) since 2005. Very good quality, no stretch, increased speeds. :thumb:
bowhunterkdc 12-09-2009, 01:12 PM I use vaportrail strings. They have lasted longer than the other strings I have tried and they gained me 10 fps more also they are easy to work with as far as ordering.

redfish 12-10-2009, 05:59 PM The best that I have shot come from Mike Carter, they absolutely do not move.
bowhuntermitch 12-10-2009, 08:22 PM Have had the best of luch with vaportrail strings, best out there imo
Hoyt1945 12-11-2009, 09:35 AM When I got my Hoyt 38pro, the center serving on the string was too large and had to re-serve it with smaller material. I shoot Carbon express line jammers 250. Has anyone had any problems with vapor trail strings fitting the nocks. I would like to be able to install the string and shoot without having to re-serve.
