How high should a 40 yard pin shoot at 30 yards? I dont have place to shoot a 40 yd pin, but want to add one. I would like to get a basic sight set at 30 yds. How high should that be?

first welcome to 3dshoot. next I would find a archery club that has a outdood range. if you cant do that I would sight the bow in at 10, 20, and 30 yards. then I would put the 40 yard pin on. then I would measure the gap between the 20 and 30 yard pin and move the 40 yard down about the same amount. maybe add just a little bit. s/b fairly close, depending on arrow weight. but you really need to shoot 40 yards to fine tune it. hopes this helps some.

If you have access to an archery program such as OT2(On Target2) you can use information based on you setup and using the pin gaps already know from 20 to 30 yds you can then print a template for setting the remaing pins on your sight(40, 50, etc). I do this with my hunting setup by sighting in at 20 and 50, then using OT2, I set the rest of the pins and 99% it is spot on.
good luck
