Say you have found a really good spot....and you shoot and miss a really nice deer.....damb deer ducked the string....at 15 yrds no less....

My question is how long would you wait to go back to the spot??? A few days? a week? I dont beleive he was acctually spooked he ran off but stopped and walked away after about 50 yrds....from where I shot at him.....

so how long do you guys wait to go back to a spot......

I really think that all depends on hunting pressure and people pressure in the area. If I now that Iam the only person hunting in the area and follow steps of not contaminating the area with human sent I would return next day or 2, especially if the deer was really not spooked. If the area is hunted hard and the deer are pressured you defenitly do not want to train the deer, give it a few days.

I agree. If the animal wasn't spooked; he just walked away, I would say you could go back anytime. I've had the same buck come back the same day only a couple hours after a botched shot.

I dont think you really spooked him, i would give it a day or two.
