Only gained 4 fps. IBO rating over the XT. Looks like they shaved some wieght. I think I will make a trip to dealer today. Try to shoot. If that $849. price tag sticks:doh: . I will remain happy with my XT:wave: . I'm sticking with my XT anyways very happy with it and will be happier when I switch grip.:peace:

I bet your right there.

I used to buy 2 new bows a year...with the prices the way they are now I buy only 1 new bow a year. If the prices keep going up I will start buying a new bow every 2 years instead. $849 is to much for a hunting bow IMO.

But I have to keep up with the Jones's.:tape: What am I saying I usually only buy new bows about every 8-10 years so by the time I buy a new one they will be what about $1200 bare bow.:frusty: :pout: :pout:

They keep changing little things improving this and that like slimmer, stronger limbs(not that they are needed), no limb pockets, XT string suppressors,SB cable guard,ATA,BH. It will be smoother, quieter, faster, more efficient. But hey I'm sure you know more about Mathews bows than I do. I just own one right. Its just tough to keep improving something that is so great.

So not to be a Mathews hater but...

The only change is that it has slim limbs? Unless I'm mistaken thats it.

2 FPS on IBO speed is laughable at best. They use 2 less strands in their string and they will get an extra 2 FPS.

The "super durable" limbs are crap. Every new bow that comes out has "limb issues fixed". Personally I'd be mroe concerned with them being thinner that there is nothing there to stop them from exploding instead of cracking.

so basically to me it looks like this shouldn't have a new name but should be "The Switchback Ultra-Slim" or something like that.

What benefit does no limb-pocket provide? (i know you were just being a SA but seriously...)

do they make it easier to tune? Do they reduce the weight a signfigant amount? Does it make the weight able to be adjusted to below the suggested limits or above?

Aside from opening up another spot to get tree limbs stuck in I can't see any benefit to it?

I just came back from my shop and I got to shoot the new bow and I have to admit that I was extremely impressed with the new bow. The riser looks real nice and the camo is different. I think that Bowman wll own one soon but don't like the price. It is not cheap.:peace:
