Ok, the bows here and I shot it. One sweet shooter. Here are some real world specs....
Bow came in at 72#, 29" draw. I installed a loop but no peep yet. Threw a whisker biscuit and shot a 403 grain axis out of it at 296fps!:peace:
The new design of the bow is really cool looking, the limbs and pocket are very small and thin. The bow is definitely lighter this year.
I'll be posting some pictures very soon and will have more information soon too.

Nice pics Chris thanks and thanks for the info on the testing. 296 at 43gr over IBO and 1" shorter draw. Oh yeah and you used a WB so that probably robbed you of 2-4fps:lol: What about vibration and noise Chris fill us in please???? I just got back from the shop.....well I have to say it is slightly different....the one thing that sticks in my mind the most and evertime I think about the bow is the draw cycle.....there is absolutly no valley.....
My thoughts.....not that any of you care....
The new limbs......very narrow....o.k. I'll bite....like...
No limb pockets.....looks clean....I cant decide.....
New cam.....looks the same but feels different than the Xt....dont like...
New camo.....did they get a kid to color that thing....not bad but not as nice as the previos camo paterns from them....
lighter weight.....it is lighter....not sure....heavier bow easier to hold steady...
overall rating out of 5.....it gets a 3....
the reasoning.....
not as inovative as they would have you think....
not a big change from the original Switchback.....
doesnt make me want to get one.....
and the countdown clock was really tacky....
If I was to buy a new bow I would have to say so far the Ross is leading the way....I need to find a hoyt dealer and shoot a Vectrix and Vulcan.....and I guess I need to find a gaurdian to shoot just to say I did.....

Well I shot the Drenalin and its a good shooter, but I'm really glad I bought my SB XT. I will continue to shoot my XT. I do like the wieght of the Drenalin limbs are made out of new material, a little shaving of wieght on more machining done on the riser and the pivot in the limbs, and a new cam but it looks the same as the XT except for a little different machining. I think some people will be very happy with this bow it is quiet and no vibration for a lite bow that us to be unheard of. Did I say it was fast!!!!:peace:
For all the secrecy that Mathews went through and all the hype this is a let down:tape: . I was expecting more, especialy if they were trying to top my XT. LOL:amen:

Of course I got to shoot it, thats what its there for. Well first off the limbs look like they belong on a toy bow. Thats about it, it is really a nice shooting and looking bow. I blew apart one of my pin nocks on my gold tips, which did'nt really bother me since I will not be shooting them anymore. I tell ya its smooth, light and easy to shoot and the grip did'nt feel as uncomfortable to me as the XT's did.

I've been able to spend a little time shooting the Drenalin bow. I'm shooting it setup like a hunting bow. 70#, 29" draw, shooting axis arrows with blazers through a biscuit.
This thing pounds. I am drilling inside out X's at 20 yards with no effort. Shot after shot after shot. I may have to put a sureloc on this and see what it can really do.

So what benefits do the new limb pockets provide? Do the new limbs make any difference?
Aside from the grip, if you put the XT and the Drenalin side by side, is there a reason to spend the money on the Drenalin instead of the XT?

I'll add my 2 cents;
Yep.......... I shot it.
Yep...... I like it.
In fact - I was the FIRST customer to shoot the demo bow - IN FACT, I was the first customer to KNOW about the demo bow!
It was the first time I had ever dealt with this dealer (since my local guy was too busy shotgun hunting this week..... ), and I was more than impressed and pleased by her service.
She asked, "How did you know about this bow?"
THE INTERNET OF COURSE!!!!
She was busy painting the indoor range (pop up 3D!) so she showed me the bow, the indoor test range, gave me some arrows and said, "Enjoy, please play with my toys!" BUT, she demanded that I also shoot the XT, because the demos are set at 70# and she can't shoot them, so she relies on customers opinions unitl she can get one to set up for herself to shoot.
I got set up and other than the demo's had Biscuits on them and I shoot a Drop Zone, I was pleased as pie!
I really enjoyed shooting the Drenalin.
And I will say this;
Don't knock it till ya shot it, and YES, it IS very different than the Switchback AND the XT. Completly DIFFERENT animals, and the Drenalin is a frickin' BEAST! It will appeal to current Mathews shooters and maybe even some non Mathews guys if they give it half a chance.
Again, this one was set up with a Whicsker Biscuit, peep sight with rubber tubing, and an HHA sight...no stabilizer and no loop - just a nock and a cushion button. I havn't shot "off the string" in ages.
The range arrows were Easton Carbon EWpics or something, all with Blazer vanes (one had a torn Blazer), and one with 4 inch fletching....
The bow was maxed out, the shop measured it at 74 pounds.
I shot it first for a few ends at 9 yards.
Initally, I pawed the bow over, it felt SO nice. Very level and sturdy, and of course light. The grip is the same shape, but there is no doubt it IS a bit slimmer (According to my feel and my eyeballing it next to an XT) - but the wood has a stin finish, so it actually holds in your hand better. The factory grip is quite comfortable and so far, I see no need to replace it.
I liked the slim limbs. You could hold this bow in the stand all day without putting it down, carry it all over the 3D course with no troubles! Some have mentioned they appear to be more subseptable to limb splinters or dowright breaks, but they are not the extreme parralel you see with the XT or the Bowtechs, so there is not that high pre-load to worry about. They are very similar in angle to the Switchback. The best of both worlds if you ask me. They do flare out a hair at the eccentric ends. They feel sturdy, I am not sure where the whole limb failure theory of some comes from, but it is new technology....we'll see soon enough.
The cam does indeed look like the worked on the cable eating problem - appears to be wider and smoother. I noticed no wear at all in the 100 or so shots I took with it. The upper idler wheel is a sleeker, more machines version of the design so indiciative of Mathews. There is a machined circle around the entire wheel that looks sharp. (Looks don't kill, but it's there, so I like it)
The limb pockets.....I don't know enough to make an educated guess on them, but they are pretty cool. Inital concerns of getting debris between the limb and the riser..... I guess it could happen, but even if it did, it would not effect the shot, other than maybe noise.... Time will tell.
What I don't like;
- The camo. The new pattern looks sloppy on the bow. I really liked the Hardwoods HD pattern, even though I bleed Mossy Oak Break Up. The crispness of the HD accentuated Mathews lines and looked sharp. The new Realtree AP Repeat looks like my 4 y/o son painted the bow. Although forgivable, it definitley reafirrmed my intentions to order the bow with black limbs. (even though Scottyluck's rationale kinds talked me out of it this summer if I went through with an XT).
- The dampers. I could live with the smaller dampers being weights with decals simualting brass. On the Drennie - the riser dampers are stickers too! To me, that is a bit cheesy. On the plus side, the rubber section of the riser dampers appear to be more pliable, therefore disrupting more vibration with the weight.
That's all so far I can complain about.
The first draw was rough as I always am leary when I can't see the end of an unknown arrow on the other side of that Biscuit. Once I determined it wasn't gonna pull through it got smoother.
It is a stout pulling bow. 74 pounds is no joke! I hadn't drawn my bow in about a week, so my muscles were not 100 percent conditioned to drawing. It came back steady and smooth - no noticable hump - just as smooth as my old Oneida Eagle, and comparable to my Switchback.
Once back - it held solid and comfotable. No noticable "wobble" or unsteadiness at all. Without the loop, the 29 inch cam brought the string right back to my nose perfectly. It even allowed me to take some of the bend out of my bow arm, which felt like it made my form stronger, ie; The Power Triangle. I did notice if I creeped a bit to adjust my anchor, it would pull foward, but no worse than my Switchie, and no where near as bad as the Legacy.
At no time during drawing or at full draw did I feel uncomfortable about the lack of limb pockets or slim limbs. I noticed no limb twist or idler lean, even intentionally torguing the string. Again - the bow felt damn good at full draw.
The I squeezed the trigger. Time stood still, but that arrow sure as *#@& didn't. It seemed so much faster than my Switchie.... It may have been louder, but I think most of the noise came from the arrow knocking the everloving crap out of the target upon impact. But if it weren;t for that noise, I would not have known the bow went off. Really. The Drenalin was just dead in my hand, ready for the next arrow. Shooting it is a pleasure indeed.
Now since the shop owner insisted I shoot the Xt as well to compare, I did. It was set up the same, except the XT had an S-Coil stabilizer on it. Same arrows.
The XT pulled as smooth, but not as hard. I don't think the poundage was the same, but it was "easier" to draw back. In fact, all I could feel drawing it was the rubber peep tubing stretching. Once I shot it there was no contest. The XT was smooth and also minimal hand shock or recoil, but the bow fall away from me (tipped forwards) naturally. I attributed this to the stabilizer (the Drenaline had none installed, and honestly - I prefferred that). My personal feelings were the Drennie shot so much stronger than the XT. I see the XT appealling to customers who may not be able to draw alot of weight....Maybe that's a bad comparision....bottom line is that that drawing the XT, I didn't feel it as much as the Drenalin, but I feel the Drennie was a better package. The Drennie certainly held much better.
I took them both out to the indoor 3D range (a reworked greenhouse!) and shot at 20, 30, and 40 yards. I was in love with the Drenalin. I feel it is a solid bow and was quite a pleasure to shoot. It was fairly fast, and although I did not send an arrow through the chrono - I was happy with it. It has some snot to it. It has a little more oomph than the XT.
I feel the 33 inch axle to axle gives it a bit more stability than the XT, and is a happy median for me - between ultra short bows and the longer bow you all long for. I am 6 foot 3 and like the short bows.
Once a Drenalin is all decked out with the new 2007 Trophy Ridge products, it is going to be awesome. I can't wait!

Hoosier, The bow is very nice I liked it alot. No I'm not switching to the darkside. But I will say this if I was in the market for a new bow, it would definitely be in the mix of possible choices just like the SB and the SB XT were when I got my Trykon XL.

Exactly. I'm already a little tired of hearing useless specs on this bow. (New camo, a bit lighter, a bit faster, same as XT, no it's not, blah blah)
If you want to sell me to the darkside, sell me on these (2)features that even Mathews website does not do. They state the new composite limbs are better.
Ok, as long you say so. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone, anyone, please give me something concrete on the new limbs and limb pockets. This is what should be selling this bow, right?

I went to my local shop last weekend to shoot the new 2007 bows to make sure the Drenalin was really what I wanted. I shot the Dreanalin first and it felt great quite, smooth, light, fast everything you could ask for. After it I shot the Guardian, I shot it twice and put it down it felt like it was going to vibrate out of my hand. Not impressed by the Guardian at all and man is it ugly. I also shot the Vetrix and it was a good shooter but I walk a lot when I bow hunt so I didn't like how heavy it felt. So my mind was made up I am getting the Drenalin until some other guys in there were shooting and told me that I should try the Allegiance. So I did and I didn't want to put it down. It is a little lighter, a little quiter and it seemed like it was 10 times easier to pull back and hold for as long as I needed without getting tired. So I bought the Allegiance and have been shooting everyday since. I will try and get some pictures up by this weekend.
