Watch college basketball and hunting shows on tv. Feed cows, shoot in my yard, build arrows, talk about last season and next years prospects. No indoor archery within 100 miles around here that I know of.

I like to do some scouting after season. Gives me an idea of what exactly I missed while sitting in my stands. Gotta find me a new indoor range to shoot this year. Maybe I'll try the Archers Spot it is only about 20-25 miles from here. Only problem is they do not deal in Mathews yet.

Hmm 25 miles to avoid the Mathews Fanboys huh... I would consider the drive time well spent!

I gave them a call and it seems as though they have the Mathews dealership from my old shop that closed. They have been wanting this for awhile I was told. So it seems as though they did'nt even deal in Mathews and were Darksiders.:biggrin1:

Sorry for the HIJACKING now :focus:

After season I focus on three things:

1) Excercise - I like to keep the old ticker and lungs in good shape. Dragging deer ain't for the weak. I also like to lift weights 2-3 times a week to keep the arms in top shape for a smooth draw and keep the legs in shape for rugged hikes during season caring gear and/or climbers into the woods.

2) Shed hunting/scouting - who lives hear and what did I miss.

3) More access - find out who owns that land then get access for a bowhunter.

Still have a couple wks of bow season left and still plan to hunt as hard as possible. But after that i'm going to do a lot of cutting where my stands are at.....had a lot of tall under growth this past season. It's a lot easier to do that in the winter than in the summer....don't have to put up with the ticks/chiggers......than it's time to start thinking about spring turkey season..

I just wait for spring Turkey. And then Fishing. No Ice fishing for me its too cold and I usually have enough fish in the frezzer to last until I can take the cover off the boat. Not to mention the ice scares the S**T out of me.

Deer season just ended yesterday here in VA. Monday starts the predator hunting for me. Crow is open until March. Spring turkey is just around the corner and 3D starts bright and early in Feb. In the mean time, there is always work to be done on stands, bows, ect...and Paintball on days there are no 3D shoots. Soon it will be time to start pre-season trips to the woods to hang stands and cut shooting lanes, then the season starts over.

No wonder my year seems to just slip by before I know it.

Interesting to see this thread pop up again. I clicked on it and there was my post from last year.
Still the same for me, watching college basketball and hunting shows and trying to shoot arrows in the yard but it has been very windy and stormy lately. It was 18* this morning when I was flinging arrows. No cows to feed as we sold them this fall. Spent the last week trying to get the dozer started to plow out my driveway, finally got it going today and plowed the snow back until the next storms this week. Got to call in to see if I have jury duty this tuesday.
It is pretty quiet around here, I lost my dog toward the end of september and my wife passed away the middle of november after a four year battle with breast cancer. I'm just taking things one day at a time and seeing what happens next. Hope everyone has a good new year, I am trying to think there is nowhere to go but up at this point, at least I am hoping so anyway.
