How much will the average string stretch after say 1000 shots? Will it get an inch or more longer?

I have seen as much as 1.5 inches in 2 years....not much more than that....

what type of string??? should be no more that .5 inch in 1000 shots.....

It is a factory Hoyt string. Bought some new shafts and thought I would be sure of the arrow length before cutting them. Was surprised to see they no longer were aligned to the front edge of the riser but back about an inch. Thanks for your answer.

I'd say that its possible for your factory string to have streched a good 1/2" or more. Some are worse than others, I guess some of it depends on how they were made on that day. If your string has stretched bad then the cables has probably stretched also.
