I received a 2,050 check for a computer I had on Craig list for 475. I am suppose cash the check. when his "shipper" comes for the computer I am to give him the puter plus the 1575.00 to pay for shipping. what really burns me up is not trying to rip me off but to think I am that dumb. I did call the police they said they could do nothing about it unless I actually got ripe off.

Maybe I'm slow, why not just keep the overpayment? I don't understand this form of payment.

It's a classic scam. They send a bad check for over the amount they owe you and get the item plus cash back. Then when the check doesn't clear, you're out not only the item they "bought" but also the rest of the money.
