View Full Version : Another Newbie
Hookshurt 07-27-2010, 08:19 PM First off, I'm not sure this post belongs here, so please let me know if I need to move it. My Dad died a couple of years ago and left me 5 different bows that I feel it is time to part with. The one that I am most concerned with the value on is the one I've had the hardest time trying to actually put a value on. It is a Hoyt and the tag on the limbs reads Montega 3500 and my assumption is that it is a 2007 model at latest. The riser has a label that says Montega and the limbs are labeled as XT 3500 Pro-Series. The limbs also are engraved with 32P and the cams are engraved with HW1.5RT and HW1.5RB.
I'm really not sure what other information someone needs to value a bow other than the accessories that are on it. I'll be happy to share that information as well if anyone is interested in helping me evaluate it. Thanks in advance for your time.
Daniel Boone 07-28-2010, 06:33 AM Bows that are very old usually dont bring alot.
Post some pictures and Im sure we can give you a value.

BUNNYMAN 07-28-2010, 10:30 AM Older bows? If you dont know what your talking about, dont comment....:amen:
Hoyt Montega was primarily a fingers and indoor boor that was produced UP TO 2008.....had a IBO of like 270 280 at the most....
Since when is a 2-3 year old bow.....OLD??
What a bunch of "know nothings"....:noidea:
Forgot to add that they went for about $800ish depending on finish...and area of the country...:peace:

I buy and sale alot of bows and have spent a few days in classifiads:peace: One can put that in a search at AT classifiads and see what they bring. Honestly it wont bring alot, want to be honest. Dont let some on here try and tell you different. If you can get $350.00 to $400.00 sale it.
Ill search for you a little tonight and get back with you with some that sold.

Assc on the bow. Plano bow case.
Super D scope on maybe a Sureloc or Toxs sight. Simms stabilizer.
Hookshurt 07-28-2010, 05:58 PM You guys are alright. It's a SureLoc Challenger site and the stabilizer has the name brand Limb Saver on it. My Dad used it as a finger bow in a few of the competitions around Texas. I appreciate the research on the sales prices as I had no idea what exactly I needed to look for.

I think after seeing some of these sale. Your bow worth $550.00 with assc.
There not real fast sellers but they do sale eventually. I would post it on AT in the classifiads. Start at $600.00 and come down if dont sale. Would help if you knew the year and model.
Good Luck

Gator eye 07-29-2010, 06:55 AM sense when did 500 bones = "not worth much":noidea:

Asking and getting it are two different things. Compared to the cost of that bow new. $500.00 is for the bow and assc. Bow itself is worth around $350.00 to $400.00. Sight and scope are worth around $150.00. Stabilizer worth around $35.00
I have sold bows in excellant shape for $150.00 more than once.
