hey guys i want to start fletching my own arrows but i have a problem. i don't know how to take off the old fletchings. Can you just cut them off with a knife? will that effect the way the arrow flys?

J.C. 10-18-2010, 09:48 PM you need to cut the old fletching off and then scrape off the glue residue and then wipe down with denatured alcohol. there are commercial available fletching scrapers or you could use a potato peeler. if you use a knife you need to be very careful not to cut or gouge the shaft.
