Supermag 03-23-2011, 07:35 AM A clicker is a tool usually used by finger shooters (mainly target recurve) that acts as an anti-target panic device/draw check. All it is is a piece of spring steel that rides on the arrow and is set so that you anchor and aim and then apply tension and pull through your shot, the clicker falls off the tip of the arrow and hits the riser (making a click). You train yourself so that your subconcious releases the arrow upon hearing this noise. srj26 03-23-2011, 12:07 PM thank you but i'm not sure the thing i saw(mentioned in my first post) is for recurve. it looks like it conected to the bus cable on a compound. Supermag 03-23-2011, 12:30 PM thank you but i'm not sure the thing i saw(mentioned in my first post) is for recurve. it looks like it conected to the bus cable on a compound. The Cavalier Clicker with the dovetail mount mounts on the sight bar, not the buss cable. And as I said in my post, they are PRIMARILY for finger shooters and are most often seen on target recurves. They function the same way (once the arrow gets past the wire, the wire drops and hits the riser or some other point and makes a click). bowdoc1 05-24-2011, 09:08 AM I shot a clicker with a recurve and the early wheeled compound. I had a average of 300 with a recurve in the 60's and 70's and 300 with 40 X's. I shoot a release now and have no need for a clicker, if you shoot your release right push and pull to set it off. A archer would draw and set the arrow up on the end of the arrow, aim at the center of the target, hold as he pushed and pulled trough it. When the clicker would go off you shoot if you were on the target or not. It forested you to aim and hold through the shot. I have known a couple of good release shooter who shot with clickers, but they would punch the trigger when the clicker went off. |
