brokenarrow 02-13-2007, 08:33 PM what kind of target shooting will you be doing????
And what is you price range??
dzingale 02-13-2007, 09:28 PM There are A lot of options out there.
Mathews Ovation, Apex, Apex 7, Conquest 4,
Bowtech Constitution, Commander.
Those are A few options that you could look at but they are not cheap. Good luck, Danny
Dredly 02-14-2007, 07:13 AM If you are just getting into target archery you can keep the entire setup under 700.00 by buying everything used. I just about finished my target bow and I'm looking at about 650.00 total, my buddy just started building his on a Pearson Gen 2 and it looks like he'll come in around the 700 mark.

I'm setting up a Darton Vegas, and I should be under $600...Probably less than half of a new setup...It just takes alittle longer to find deals...
BowhuntnHoosier 02-14-2007, 07:56 AM For me it would be either:
Mathews Apex 7,Apex,Conquest 4
Bowtech Constitution
Hoyt Pro-elite,38 Pro
Martin S4 Sceptor
PSE MOJO
I know thats alot of different options but oh so much fun to shop around for.:peace:

I was looking at the MOJO and the Sceptor...but I got a great deal on the Darton
Dredly 02-14-2007, 08:02 AM I ended up going with an 05 Ovation for my target setup. Slow but shoots REAL smooth and I'm not using it for 3-D so I wasn't worried about speed. I'll use my OG for 3-D and crank the poundage up to 72 or so, get a 360 gr arrow and sling it at 310 FPS ;P

The S4 is supposed to be an amazing bow... but the price tag matches it. I could have gotten a used Apex 7 for 550 or so which was still out of my price range, cheapest S4 I found was about 600 i think....
when you limit yourself to 350 or less for the bow your options get limited as well.

So tell us how is the Slovation shooting??
I found a Black Cherry Icon for sale!!!! But then you guys would say I shot a Pink bow.

Stupid Mathews still hasn't gotten the cams over here so its still not setup  I shot it at 29" last night and it is defiantely a smooth shooting bow, however without a peep it makes it a little hard to aim and the 40+ AtA puts the top cam almost to the floor boards so I decided to put it down after the first shot
Dredly 02-14-2007, 09:25 AM how about a PSE 3D Mojo

awesome bow at an amazing price!
I shoot mostly 3-D and target for fun and i got a Switchback XT and sure-loc supreme sights with a viper scope with x4 mag. i love it still gettin used to 80 % let-off and all that not shooting too great with it but im only pulling 46 pounds because im young but i love the bow. The reason i got the switchback is for hunting and target when hunting comes around i will swith everything around.
Hoyt Powertech 11 02-14-2007, 12:39 PM The Hoyt Proelite or Ultraelite

I knew it................the darkside is in control now. He is crying because he wants to shoot his Mathews. Patience young one "it will happen"
Actually I am sorry you are having to wait so long for the cam Dredly. I hope you get it very soon and can start enjoying that Ovation it is truly a sweet shooting bow.
Now why do you have to continually pick on Bowman like this. Seems like just last week you guys were playing so well together.:peace:

dont worry...we will always agree to dissagree......
olympian300 02-15-2007, 06:19 PM And what is you price range??
Price range isn't real important, I am looking for opinions on what everyones dream bow would be, mostly used for indoor target shooting, as well as occasional 3D shooting.
BowhuntnHoosier 02-15-2007, 06:57 PM Price range isn't real important, I am looking for opinions on what everyones dream bow would be, mostly used for indoor target shooting, as well as occasional 3D shooting.
I would go with the Mathews Apex 7 50-60. But with that being said I would still walk into every shop possible and shoot everything I could before the purchase.:peace:
BUNNYMAN 02-15-2007, 08:44 PM I would probably have to say that you really are looking for 2 different bows....
I would say that for indoor you shoould look for a bow w/a pretty large brace height (7.5 to 8.5)....and pretty low poundage.....I think it was said here once that the average poundage the indoor guys are shooting is like 48lbs......in 65-70% letoff
For 3-d i like to shoot something w/a little more poundage...say 60-70 pounds....(my switchback maxes out at 64)....also something w/a slightly shorter brace height, 6.5-7.5, to help get a little speed......(for those times you miss judge a few yrds)
now what we have not gotten into is a do all bow......if you find a bow that you really like the riser on and really like the feel of how the bow handles...you could either get 2 of them or get a second set of limbs in higher or lower poundage......
I thought at one time I may have been able to shoot one bow for everything....but found out shooting spots (60-100arrows) at 64lbs was not going to work.....i ingured my back a few years ago.....
I also found that shooting a very slow bow for 3-d will not work for somebody that has a tuff time judgeing yardage.......
I think that I may not have helped at all but .......maybe just maybe....my fiance will read this and relize that i really do need more than one bow......
