View Full Version : anyone getting a new bow next year?
thehairlessone! 07-16-2007, 08:30 PM Not me. I think this is the first year in many years I wont be getting a new bow. I know there are going to be some killer bows in 2008 but I couldnt be happier with my guardian.
Anyone hearing any new bow rumors?
rick
Michael396 07-16-2007, 08:32 PM I am looking for a new bow, just not sure what I want just yet. Thinking about a Diamond or maybe an Elite, not sure, just so it is red.
Michael
I never plan on getting a new bow, but then they'll come out with something I just can't live without. :biggrin1:
I like my Commander, but I'm also wondering what changes they'll make on the 2nd generation center-pivot bows.
Hook Em 07-16-2007, 08:40 PM Of course I am not planning on it....but never say never!

BUNNYMAN 07-16-2007, 09:00 PM does late 2007 count??
I am getting a C4 in late October, if they dont come out w/a better indoor bow by then......
Greg / MO 07-16-2007, 09:18 PM I just might happen to stumble across a few... ;)
bullspotter 07-17-2007, 12:24 AM nope no new bows for me, Im sure the vectrix and trykon will do me good for a few more years!!!
chelleo 07-17-2007, 12:55 AM Probably be looking for a 3D bow in 08.That's what I was thinking, I have a wonderful target bow...my Hoyty toyty...but I want something shorter for 3-D kinda stuff. I was thinking maybe a Switchback XT or maybe a Bowtech but I'll guess I'll wait to see what emerges for next year.
Sniper 07-17-2007, 01:34 AM Checked out the Drenalin tonight at LAS.
Saw three sold while I was in the store. Very Impressive. I wanna know. I was between a Ross Cardiac, A BowTech Allegience, and a undecided Elite model. I need two new bows. Now, it looks like I gotta add one to the list. Just when I was whittling it down.
Who has a Drenalin, and what's it like?
olehemlock 07-17-2007, 03:03 AM Yeah.....right:doh: . If your asking about rumors already....you have already fallen off the wagon....I see a 2008 in your future:rockon: Not me. sweet old bill 07-17-2007, 04:53 AM what brand is a c4 ?
what now is the average on replacement of bows ?
I am now in the 5th year with by number 1 bow Alpine Pro 3D, my
blue target bow Hoyt is 3 years old and by new Alpine is last year model...
I know I shot several of the new models and the one that almost got me was the new Hoyt and also the new bowtech. But being on a fixed income ( retire) it is not when I was working and could have hidden income from the wife...just go to the old coffee can and pull out those $50 bills....
Also what makes you get a new 3D or hunting sights or scopes ???? I have been shooting the old cheap 1400 tox on the Hoyt 3D bow with just a 2x scope in it.. I looked at prices and it would seem to cost about $400 plus to get a new 3D target sight and a 4x scope like Bowman has on that bow of his...What do the higher price setup go for used ???

Nope I'm serious hemlock. If anything I will probly get a new string on mine and maybe get my sight and rest dipped from meanv but that is about it.
I love seeing new bows and pics, etc. but this time I will just be looking! :biggrin1:

Doc Holliday 07-17-2007, 06:25 AM what brand is a c4
sCepter 4? :noidea:
:D
Dens228 07-17-2007, 06:27 AM I'd like to say I won't. I usually say to myself, "Wow, this bow is great I'm keeping this one for a few years" and then end up getting wanting to try something new.
Dredly 07-17-2007, 06:33 AM sCepter 4? :noidea:
:D
I think he means a Conquest 4? (Mathews)
As for a new bow... I'd like one, will it happen? probably not.
chuck7413 07-17-2007, 06:58 AM I love my Ross, but I also miss shooting a Hoyt.
Looking to get a Vectrix Xl, will have to see what 08 brings.

I DONT THINK SO......
not that i would say no if someone gave it to me....but for shop shooter status and to keep my status of Mathews Fan Boy club president alive.....
It will be a Mathews Conquest 4.....and I am leaning towards black on black again....:biggrin1:
mdewitt71 07-17-2007, 09:18 AM I will have a new one waiting on me when I get back from Iraq.
It just very well, may be an 09, the way things are looking.....
Gator eye 07-17-2007, 09:44 AM It's not weather I want a new bow or not, it's more like if a new bow wants me. I have no will power.:noidea:
I'm hoping to get a new 3D bow for 08.
Do you all think an X-Force would make a good short draw 3D bow?
I'm hoping to get a new 3D bow for 08.
Do you all think an X-Force would make a good short draw 3D bow?
Yes. The lower 6 in brace height increases the power stroke and helps shorter draw lengths attain speed.
BuckeyeRed 07-17-2007, 12:40 PM ME!! Can't wait for November to role around. It will most likely be a Mathews or Hoyt. But if I don't like any of the new hunting bows for 08, (find that hard to believe) I'm gonna buy a ProElite instead. Can't wait!!:peace:
Dens228 07-17-2007, 12:42 PM Hi Dennis!! Always glad to see another familar face!:welcome:
Thanks Dan, glad to be here!
MeanV2 07-17-2007, 01:03 PM Thanks Dan, glad to be here!
Visit often and let me know how your Bear Hunt goes. I know its just around the corner.:biggrin1:
I hope to go again myself someday. Nothing like hunting those Big Bruins. Here this ought to get you pumped!!
ny911bowhunter 07-17-2007, 03:14 PM I'll be buying Mathews new hunting bow this winter.....as long as it is a short a to a....such as a Dren XT.
I'll also be buying either a Conquest 4 or an Apex (7) this fall for indoors....I'll be needing some Postenization them Jim!
j3dGuam 07-17-2007, 03:47 PM I just might give in and finally get the Synergy

SilentSniper 07-17-2007, 04:48 PM My Guardian shoots sweet as all get out......but I will have a new bow next year. If not this year. The Guardian is lonely!

Have you tried the Commander?
I'd still like to try one of those Constitutions. The dealer here won't even stock any, much lesss let you shoot one.
Greg / MO 07-17-2007, 05:35 PM I've got a pair of Guardians and an '07 Allegiance hanging in my home shop, but I just picked up a new 60-lb. Constitution as I begin to get serious about 3-D... I can assure you that as awesome as those other three bows are, the Consti is even MORE stable... It's gonna make a great 3-D bow!!
Dan's sending out my string suppressor for it tomorrow, and I just picked up a Doinker Carbon Elite 11.5" stab for Hunter Class, plus I'm having Stealth Archery custom build an 11.5" stab for me as well; it's being dipped at Bowtech right now to match my bow. I'm curious to see which one will work out best on my new rig.
Pinwheel1969 07-17-2007, 05:41 PM I was going to get a pse x-7. But have heard they have a new target bow coming out that makes the Mojo a boat anchor. So, I'll waite and see what comes..
BuckeyeRed 07-17-2007, 06:00 PM I'll be buying Mathews new hunting bow this winter.....as long as it is a short a to a....such as a Dren XT.
I really hope that won't be their flagship or at least their only flagship. Don't get me wrong I love my SB XT but If all Mathews does is shorten the ATA on the Dren and give it another 1/2" brace ht. and lose 5-10 fps like they did w/ the Switchback, I am going to be highly annoyed. I really hope they dont keep up that trend.

Never shot the Commander. Call me crazy but I think I want a Monster Bow. For some reason I like ugly bows. They grow on me. :noidea:
ZA206 07-18-2007, 12:31 AM Im hoping for a better, more refined, faster Guardian. Say IBO speeds around the 350 fps mark and a 7" brace height. Better cable clearances, smooth/speed mods and AP or MAX-1 camo options.
That would pretty much make me break out the checkbook.
BTW, thanks for the subversive invite to this site. I like it. Good to see you, MeanV, the real Doc Holliday and some others here as well.
I've got some strong opinions on AT as do you guys, but I stick to the Bowhunting forum 99% of the time and ignore trainwreck threads, so I've gone mostly un-molested. Feel free to PM me guys... love to chat with you about what went on.
-ZA (aka Patrick Stewart)
i am betting they will come out with smooth and speed mods.
